well coming onto the m1 and i can hear a nosie from behind me i slow down to 70 ish and the noise gets louder, i speed up and it goes away. 20miles later i get into mansfield and pull in at a garage, cant see anything, pull off again and the noise appears i nurse the car back and get into the garage and the alternator bolt head has gone the alternator is only holding on by the remaing bolt being wedged against the engine bay wall, 2nd time i have had a bolt shear on the alternator in about 1.5 years, good job i kept a machine bolt from last time it went replace and now ok
