What is the real Power ?

Is this normal ???

From the beginning I got difficulties to beat , to follow, Caterhams (and alike)

Yesterday we made a live test ….

There was long long straight line on a track

The Exige S +/-same speed than my 211 ….the Exige is heavier ..normally less HP

The Caterham Duratec (260 HP) ……I suppose you can imagine…..a real rocket……That s ok

MK Indy with a dynoed (175 HP) HAYABUSA engine well ahead !!! The exact weight of the MK was WITH a passenger 585 kilos !!! I was alone….

What s going on ?

I m really disappointed…what to be checked because this time It is not question of driving level….

Where are the ¬ 260 + claimed HP ?

The most concerning result is the comparison with the Exige ....Does my car have aproblem

Your opinions pls ?

Thanks

Tam

i had mine on a rolling road on Friday.

the red line is the 270 ecu with a smaller pulley, i borrowed.

the blue line is 260, the only difference is the the torq, 10 ft at 4000 rpm and 7ft at top end.

Here for a good time, not a long time

Yes the exige is heavier but the aero is much more suited to high speed. Once you get up to high speed 120+ weight is tertiary to power and aero.

The MK indy is not realy an aeorodynamic "artwork"...and if I m taking 5kilo= +- 1 HP....

My car will be on the Dyno nrxt weel ..I m really curious...

FWIW, see the following post for dyno graphs on what we got with the stock "255 HP" ecu and then tuning for headers ..... http://www.thelotusf...n-dyno-results/

Bottomline, the stock "255 ecu" put out ~ 228 whp/159 wtq --- with "charlie-x" tunning and headers, we got to ~ 265whp/172wtq

On the same dyno, the factory "260 ecu" put out very good numbers (A/F could be improved upon for safety margin) ... ~ 258whp/169wtq .... graph below.

We have found that power does fall off significantly on HOT days as engine temp (water and IAT's) rise and the ecu does its thing to protect the engine -- pulling timing and adding fuel.
