Oil cooler / rads and rad duct

I am about to refit a recored rad and new fans to my 88 stevens n/a . The rad duct could do with a bit of repair work but the oil cooler is mounted through it. The nuts look like either they or the cooler will fall apart if I try to undo them. The cooler and pipes will be replaced at a later date when the engine is done. Has anybody tried chopping the cooler mount out of the duct allowing it to be taken on and off after the rad duct is fitted back without disconnecting the cooler pipes. Any sugestions?

It's 88 and so spent 22 years on British roads, my advice would be don't attempt to undo them unless you are prepared to replace the coolers, unions, and pipes.

The chances of dismantling it all intact are slim. (you may be lucky)
