Brake pipe diameter and thread

Recommended Posts

Hello there! As a newbie Esprit owner Ive decided before I drive the car for the first time to do a full nut and bolt overhaul of my 1995 S4 suspension, brakes and cooling systems etc..we dont want any hiccups to ruin the dream now :).

But my question is this. Can anyone tell me the brake pipe diameter and whether the thread is metric or imperial? Im looking to make up my own replacement cupro pipes.

Thanks!! Darren

What he said...

BUT... the master cylinder fittings are mad sizes, still 3/16 pipe but wacky threads and sizes.

The ABS master cylinder is a US item (I think) and it's full of imperial bolts.

You might want to reconsider some of that when you see the brake pipes under the front around the steering rack....
