Anti Roll Bar compatability and size SE to S4

Recommended Posts

Possibly an odd question..but does anyone know if the ARB on the S4 is the same diameter as the ARB on the pre 1993 stevens cars..ie SE. Also, am I safe in assuming that the only difference between the main lower 'wishbone' suspension arm between the pre 1993 and post 1993 models is the ARB bush design...

If so, does anyone know of a cheaper alternative to the £33 plus cost of the pre 93 ARB bush?

thanks

Darren

The only information I have is that 85-92 (I think all Esprits) had a 17.4 mm ARB, and the same bushes chassis and wishbone.

93-04 had a 16 mm ARB and I think the bushes into the lower wishbones were different, as the end diameter was turned down to 12 mm

The s350 had a 17 mm bar with the ends turned down to 12 mm.

From my own experience replacing the bushes pays dividends and is well worth 33 quid, if you want to go stiffer yet ARB to chassis bushes are available in poly, and I have good improvement by using them.

Hope that helps.
