I didn't know it was commonplace to have a camera on your dashboard in the states and canada?

And Yoiks! He was lucky! Noticed a big chunk of central reservation slam into the car in front knocking it sidewards!

Live here in the States, and I had no idea about people keeping cameras on their dash. In fact, last I knew it was illegal here in California to have anything on your dash that obstructs your view (I think a camera would qualify as obstruction of view). I guess I'll have to check and see if that's changed.

I'm not sure about the law in each state. but I hardly think it is "common" to have a forward view camera as the announcer implies. (definitely the rare exception, rather than the rule) I would think if someone were to position a camera in front of the mirror it would hardly be considered an obstruction (the mirror being the only "obstruction" in that case -which we know is allowed)
