New owner in Hampshire

Hi, i'd like to introduce myself as a new owner of an Esprit V8.

On Tuesday I was on my way to a Porsche dealer to do a deal on a 2002 911 Turbo which despite its image had turned out to be about the best car I had tested having a £30K budget and having tried Maserati's and other exotica. Anyway due to a bit of a spat with the Porsche dealer over my Subaru SVX part exchange value which was not what they promised I walked out telling them to go **** themselves and phoned the guy I had previosly called about the Esprit he was a bit abrupt having had a few 'people' test driving it and not having the money. In the garage was a lovely looking 2001 Esprit in metallic grey with matching wheels I drove it and bought it straight away the guy selling the Esprit looked at my SVX and said tell me about that car of yours so I did and he bought it on the spot so I suppose it saved me having to drive it home.

Lovedean which is between Portsmouth and Petersfield. I've had a Lotus on and off for a long time having bought a Europa in 1971 and still meet the Club Lotus guys on a Monday at the Hogs Lodge Clanfield way.

Welcome :D

Congratulations on the new purchase. There are a number of us in your general area so hopefully you can pop along to one of our gatherings. Keep an eye on the regional events section.

Post up some pictures of the new car when you can.

Does that still happen? I am Southampton way but have met another owner a few times there, but only because its a halfway house. I have not done an actual club meet there. Worth attending?

I have to say a number of us have strayed to other cars over the 10 or 12 years we've been meeting on the first monday of every month but as a bunch of laid back mainly part time owners of these cars it's worth coming along. I'm rubbish at posting pictures so wont even attempt to do so. As this is now my only car I'll be taking it along on the 4th April if it doesn't rain ( limp wristed I know but the car has not been out in the rain so why break with traddition) there is normally at least one Lotus there, we're generally the scruffy bunch of people at the bar.
