Here's an irony... while the legislation will ban radar detectors and laser jammers, laser detectors are not being banned!

I think they are working on the basis that once you detect it, it's too late, you're screwed but it seems insane not to include them in the legislation while you're doing it (maybe they're saving on beuraucratic ink?!)

....tho there is a fair chance that you can detect laser scatter from a leading car - enough to get enopugh of a wanring to either get yourself down to a legal speed or at least to a lesser / non-bannable offense?

...but then they also believe that identity cards will prevent terrorism so I think we are dealing with people with seriously impared logic anyway!!!

I can't see how they can ever get rid of them, how else do you find a police man? We all know that in North America to report a crime or find a copper you go to a dough nut shop. In the UK you have to speed as ALL UK police are equipped with camera film and laser guns. In fact I think that every house should be given one. Say someone is breaking into your house what is quicker phone 999 and wait for the policeman to finish his laser gun or changing film duties OR get in your car turn on the radar detector and within a couple of miles find you own copper? So face the fact the only police we have in this country are traffic or transport police and you need something to track them down

It is a easy as that.
