No, popped to halfords and tested it said it was a goner but he tested the alternator aswell and thinks that is giving out an AC current which is odd cos i think they can only push out DC current.

PS can you text me Adens number again as not sure if i wrote it down right.

An alternator generates AC voltage which is then converted to DC with the rectifier - If its giving out AC then the rectifier diode has gone - best get this checked and sorted before sticking a new battery on.
