ABS Pressure Switch Adaptor

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I just purchased an Omega switch to replace my bad stock ABS pressure switch. The Omega switch has 1/8 npt threads. The stock switch appears to be 1/4 npt threads but I soon discovered that it is not quite 1/4, it's a bit larger, perhaps metric. My problem is that I cannot find an adaptor so that my Omega switch will fit into my unit. Does anyone know the the thread size of the stock switch? Does anyone know an online source to find an adaptor? All my local sources are a bust.

Thanks,

Pete

According to the sticky thread above it's M14. The thread size isn't given but I think it's 1.5.

Regarding your Omega switch, is it compatible with brake fluid? I ask because a lot of switches are not. Also, if you are using one of the PSW-500 range and you haven't already got a low pressure warning switch then you might want to look at getting one as the warning about their "economical construction" doesn't make for a reassured feeling.

Thanks for the info Bob. It's the PSW-572. It was recommended by a fellow S4 owner who's been using it for the last 5 years. Because of the lack of a low pressure switch, the brake light comes on when the pump is active. I think I may have a way to resolve that.
