Back after a long break

Looking back its 2011 since I last laid a spanner on my Excel, but the covers are off and I am trying to pick up the pieces and remember what the hell I was doing! 

Good to see AndyC and Buddsy still on the list but sadly looks like Fitz has passed on!

Indeedy there are. Get the Excel back on the road! Must admit have looked at several recently but with winter coming I will probe get a 4x4 and then something quick early next year.

Yes ....better be careful what I say! 

I got sidetracked for a year or so by a couple of motorbikes and a pinball. sadly the clutch hasn't freed itself with two years storage so I am still on course to extract the engine.

Engine out on anything is a pain in the ass surely?

 

Not that I know. The only thing I've taken an engine out of is an Airfix model!

Theres a fair amount of room under the bonnet (removed) but not much ground clearance underneath! ......we'll soon find out if I don't suffer another lapse of motivation.

Oldest sons enthusiasm has been fired up again after seeing a nice White Excel at Snetterton at the VSCC meeting at the weekend so I will run with it!

Glad you're planning to get back at the Excel.

I had last week off form work and panned to get the Turbo Esprit back running, didn't even lay a spanner to it, so I know how easy it is to get sidetracked.
