Flange behind crankshaft sprocket

Recommended Posts

Guys

I'm slowly reassembling my engine,  and looking quite smart, what with the set of new bolts stainless bolts I bought from Kemp Performance.

I am just putting on the crankshaft sprocket.  Behind it is a  large washer, referred to in the parts manual as a flange.  I suspect is there to locate the cam belt better.

Oddly, my flange doesn't fit on the crank tightly at all.  The centre hole seems oversized, and the only thing I can see to locate it is the pressure of the bolted assembly.

Does any know if  this is as it should be?  Does one have to be careful to get it centred correctly?

My flange also has a slight curvature.  I seems to fit better with the flange curving away from the sprocket.  Is that correct?

Cheers

Showing my age, I can't remember anything about this at all.  It was all sorted in the end.

910Esprit - that was probably it! I had it on the wrong side.

I think the workshop manual might have clarified it in the end.
