Impromptu Lotus meet at Hermiston Gait, Edinburgh

What should I find parked up next to Dexter this afternoon when I emerged from Halfords (yes, I know, shut up) at Hermiston Gait Retail Park at Edinburgh?

 

Yes, a shiny black Elise R.

 

No sooner had it appeared than, when I was first attempting to post this photo, it disappeared again. Not so much as a "hello" from the owner and so I didn't even see who or what it was. I looked down, played with my phone, looked up and it had gone. Let that be a lesson to you all about the perils of a momentary focus on damned technology.

Anyway, I was then interrupted by a chap who wanted to talk to me about helicopters while the Halfords chap fitted Dex's new plate. Well, re-fitted it. I'd been to Halfords in Kirkcaldy earlier in the day and they'd made a comedy plate with air bubbles, wonky letters and all sorts. So why did I choose Halfords? Well, mainly coz they do road legal plates without a hugely visible logo and other nonsense; and I got my motorbike plate made there and they did a stunning job; at this Halfords - steer clear of the Kirkcaldy one!
