Brands this sunday

Calling all LoT & SELOC members. Autumn Lotus meet

Race Car Live! takes place this Sunday at Brands Hatch, and you could

win* the ride of a lifetime in the sensational Minardi F1x2!

This will be the first time a contemporary F1 car has appeared at

Brands Hatch since the late 1990s, when teams such as Williams used

to test at the famous Kent circuit. The Minardi F1x2 car is powered

by a 700bhp-plus V10 racing engine, as used in 2001, and features the

same type of chassis construction, suspension, brakes and tyres as a

2006-spec Formula One car.

Fancy a day out meeting other Lotus owners as well as seeing some

motorsport up close and maybe even having a few pax laps around the

UK's premier circuit Brands Hatch.

LoTRDC (Lotus on Track Racing Drivers Club) would like to invite you

along to Brands Hatch on Sunday 29th October to Race Car Live!

There will be Lotus only parking along Colin Chapman way, just as we

did back in June when over 300 Lotus turned up for the LoT evening

BBQ in the rain.

LoTRDC will have a couple of garages with the Elise simulator set up

offering you the chance to win some great Lotus and Motorsport

prizes. Have a drink and a nibble on us.

Everyone who has a go on the Simulator will receive a voucher for a

free ticket to the opening round of the LoTRDC Elise Trophy at Brands

Hatch next March. Scuffers, Walshy and Steve Williams will be doing

hot laps in their Elise race cars. Find out more about how you can

follow the inaugural LoTRDC Elise Trophy 2007.

''Whether you're looking for your 2007 motorsport challenge or going

car racing for the first time, Race Car Live! is a shop window in

which you can see the cars on track, talk to the organisers and, if

you're serious, try them out yourself.

Now in its third year, Race Car Live presents a selection of car

manufacturers, championships, series and clubs in their most natural

environment and at one of the UK's most prestigious venues.

Dozens of teams and organisations will be on hand, demonstrating

their cars around the Indy circuit to show you what you could be

racing next season. Single-seaters, touring cars, sports cars and

more will be on display, including Formula Palmer Audi, T Cars,

Radicals and Ginettas.

What's more, to see what you could be driving at the very highest

level, a contemporary Formula One car will grace Brands Hatch as

ex-F1 and A1GP star Patrick Friesacher pilots the fantastic Minardi

two-seater. If that`s not enough, Renault will also be attending with

a static display of their 2006 F1 racer, which by Race Car LIVE! might

even be a World Champion!''

Gates open to the public at 8.30am but we'd suggest you arrive

between 11am and 3pm.

If you'd like to pop along and help make a Lotus meet of this event

please sign up here - http://forums.seloc.org/showevent.php?eid=1162

Not only is there FREE entry to everyone but there will be FREE

parking to all Lotus enthusiasts along Colin Chapman way - why not

come along and kick tyres with fellow owners have some free coffee

and donuts and then wonder round to the paddock.'

* The sight and sound of the Minardi F1x2 at Brands Hatch will be

spectacular enough, but if you find a Golden Ticket hidden in your

souvenir event programme you could actually be in the hot seat

yourself! Certain age, height and weight conditions apply.

---------------------------------

I'll be there, if it's anything like other Brands events it'll kick ass - never had a dull day there.

Gimme a bell - probably be ther very early and have a coffee in the pit lane (thats where you'll always find me haha  ).

Whatcha flying ? One of my relies flys from there, always wanted to have a go on the whirly birds, few stories to tell from seeing the trainers come in and out when I used to work at BAE there :P

Like the guy who came in a little low and fast, tried to flare out in a heli, I swear he clipped the tail rotor - not a good thing boom strike.

Didn't miss much - walk, coffee, chat, home.

If the SE had been ready there would have been something to look at on the track

Spoke to sinclaires a bit but other than that - too busy in the pit lane, not enough to really get excited over.

Just checked - I only had a txt at 13:40.

I was there then - I must have been in the pit lane and didn't hear it go off, sorry.

Jussi, there wernt much to see tbh, a few single seaters and a Renault F1 car - some old Bimmers, saxo, 205 GTI and 2 Elises and an Exige. Can't complain, was free - more packed in the pit lane that usual becuase of the single seater support kit....much better when it's a Lotus on Track day imo you get get in and about the cars easier.
