20 years of the Lotus Elise - Lotus Festival Display

To celebrate the landmark of the Elise first being unveiled 20 years ago at the Frankfurt Motor Show, we have been allocated a prime spot at this years Lotus Festival to put on a fitting display.

I would like to keep to the '20' theme by having 20 cars on display and trying to get 1 of each model produced if possible.

I have made a list of the cars I am looking to source, please don't shoot me if there is any glaring omissions, I am far from an expert and will happily take any comments or suggestions to improve the display.

All cars in the display will receive a free entry ticket and be able to lap the track on Saturday lunchtime for parade laps

So here is the list with approximate model year.

1998 - Sport 135 - JJH Available until Saturday afternoon only.

This is not set in stone, so we are open for suggestions for anything I have missed or something a little special.

This is where I ask the help of the lovely TLF members, we need your cars! - If you (or a friend) have a nice (largely unmodified, original engine, original wheels, original interior etc) example of any of these cars please post up details or send me a PM and we can start ticking them off and hopefully put on a great display of this iconic little car.

Just as a footnote, ideally the cars will be required for the whole weekend so arriving early on the Saturday until things start packing up on the Sunday. If you need the car Saturday evening that will be fine as long as its back for the next morning. The display will be in a pedestrian area and it will be closed to vehicles once the general public start arriving.

You might want to change the Lotus Elise Cup R to just a Cup 220 as Cup Rs aren't road legal and most of the UK ones will be racing!

Not sure where we would stop if we included all the special and limited editions. At the moment if you have a limited edition and want it included the display it would tick off the list the model it was based on, does this sounds ok?

 

So a Sports Racer would fall under 111R?

I am not sure we are going yet, unlikely it would be for both days though I am afraid (not to mention that the car still has not got a delivery date).

Interesting, I originally included everything built on the elise platform including 340r, 211, Exige and VX's but after some thought decided on only Elise's.

Is the 340r a version of the Elise or a model in its own right?

I believe, may be wrong and happy to be corrected if so, that the 340r is related to the Elise in the same way the 211 is related to the Exige... It's more of a model in its own right than a version of the Elise really in my mind.

We also have an offer of a S1 Sport 135 but can only do until Saturday afternoon so still looking for anyone that can do the whole weekend.

 

Surprised we haven't had a few more cars filled at this stage, please note that all special editions are welcome and they will fill the space of the car the edition was based on.
