Bond-esque number plate?

Just thought i'd post this up as I know not all of us are SELOC-ers, but it's got me somewhat interested...

In essence, you can hide your number plate with a flick of a switch (for the Evora, most likely possible to sync up the homelink buttons) for shows, meet ups, detailing, etc. 

 

Apparently theres not the clearance on an Elise/Exige, but we most likely would on the Evora. 

 

What are your thoughts?

Wouldn't that lead to a 'perverting the course' charge if the 5-0 spotted it?

This is my thinking at first - but at the same time (assuming it wasn't used on the road) surely it would be just the same as folks having a pair of showplates and/or removing their plates on private property?

But it will be fitted to the car on the road and if an eagle-eyed copper spots it, you'll be in trouble. I'm sure the traffic cops are briefed about stuff like this, to keep an eye out for it.

Hmm true enough. Not worth the risk imo, but piqued my interest

Plus it's a mod - you have to tell your insurers and I guess they'll be 'hmm' to say the least...
