Tank Overhaul

Recommended Posts

On UK History (freeview) I bloody missed a few of the episodes - it's so interesting seeing what they do to these things.

Anyone who's not seen it, UK History tonight at 2200.

Basically they get a WWII tank and restore it, fascinating engineering and some interesting stuff as well about the history. They did the M4A1 Sherman last night and I thought it was a 1 off but aparently they did a German Panther tank the other night too !

If there's one thing I like it's me 'eavy Metal !!

Nice ! But there's something about WWII stuff that just stirs my soul.

Tonights prog was great esp with the veteran chap (just wish they'd stop going on about the M1A1 Abrams zzzzzzzzzzz, get back to propper history).

Didn't those tanks use the Jag XK engines ?

I wanna have a hoon in one of those

Used to wear Her Majesty's blue suit (part time - Flight Lieutenant RAF VR) and had some fun playing in some RAF Regiment vehicles out at Akrotiri in Cyprus in the early nineties (I think they were Spartans IIRC)...

Pretty rapid for an AFV - almost felt like we were pulling Wheelies at times as the driver gave it some beanz :P:lol:

Great fun...
