Who doesn't like setting off with the thrill of going out on to the open road, with the mystery of not knowing where you're driving but, the knowledge that each hotel is booked, and secure carparks included? (usually as often as possible underground) For value for money, to meet humble petrol heads & amazing people. This is an event worth joining.

Here is a little background:

"Started as the A to Z in 2009 primarily organised as a weekend event for the Nissansports club. Then Run2Datsun in 2010. As it grew in size over the next few years, the First Euro trip departed for 5 days in 2012. It is an excuse to drive your pride and joy across some of the best driving roads in Europe and uk. An adventure with like minded adventurers and petrol heads on a Top Gear style special with a bit of the wacky races thrown in"

Details are:

Dates: August 25th 2016-August 30th 2016

[*]Starting Thursday August 25th 2016 and finishing somewhere in Europe on Monday 29th August ( a days drive to the ferry home Tuesday 30th).
[*]Entry is £600 per team this includes all hotels and breakfast (5 hotels with parking)
[*]Channel crossings not included.
[*]As per usual the route is TOP SECRET!

To book the ferry, details are:
[*]DOVER TO DUNKIRK 0800am 25TH AUG 2016
[*]DUNKIRK TO DOVER 1800pm 30TH AUG 2016

Alternatively though, the Calais bound ferry or tunnel will do. 

The start line will be arranged in Dunkirk (location tbc) for a 10:30 flag drop, before the drive to the first nights hotel, deep into Europe. There will be a meeting prior to the ferry, at a location to be confirmed. 

The ferry isn't included in price because it's for entrants to decide if they'd rather take the tunnel. 

The group of teams are booked most nights into restaurants. On nights when they aren't (usually the first night, which is the longest drive) we collectively find places to eat and, drink locally to socialise. The bookings though are usually at the hotel restaurants or, a short walk from the hotel. 

200 Deposit is due in by end of April, full payment is in by end of June. Late entries will always be considered. 

Places are limited to 20 because this is more about quality of meeting fellow petrol heads, than quantity. Although extra entries can be made subject to hotel availability. There's currently 10 cars paid up. With a few more confirming time off. This is a NON profit organisation.

The route is kept secret because it gives the run an element of surprise (plus the famous road rallies don't tell you till the day either) & some of the challenges are geared to finding stuff from where you are... It's fun, the roads are great and, a trophy for the over all winners plus other goodies for winners of certain challenges & head to heads. 

Last year, we started in Reims, Barcelona, Pamplona and, back to France to La Rochelle & la harve. 

Hopefully see some lotus forum members this year. Any car welcome however.

Seeing many views but, no one yet willing to take the plunge? Honestly, you can't go wrong!! With this years quest theme being spy related, the lotus esprit or evora would be a valued addition, along side Jaguars Ftype R as "the good guys". Plenty of German & Japanese motors primed ready for Augusts adventure. For the price you can't go wrong. Stickers are also being developed at the minute for this year. Plenty of merchandise and trophies to be had too!!

Still a few places left, it's shaping up to be another epic adventure. Bring anything from an eclat to an evora!! Entry for the remaining few spots will be left open until July. Depending how quick they go.

So another year of run2 has been and gone. This year took in the autobahns of Germany, the countryside of Bavaria, the mountains of Austria, Italy, Switzerland, the picturesque Lichtenstein, the Black Forest and the Mosul wine region. Wonder where next year will go?
