DAB antenna placement

I picked up a Pioneer discless headunit from Halfords, the MVH-X580DAB, so that I can have Spotify app integration for the most part. Obviously from the name it has a DAB+ receiver in it, which I may as well hook up, so I will add a DAB antenna.

I was thinking though, surely in a GRP body, I don't need to site it on the windscreen, and can hide it inside a body panel.

Am I right? If nobody knows, I'll try it and see. I figured that someone might have already done this though.
