Anyone who orders one without ac is my instant hero but I would order with. Not for resale, an Elise doesn't need it but an Exige does much more so, unless perhaps you got the soft top conversion. If the plan is mainly road use I'd say deffo go for ac. No benefit to the weight saving for road use. Massive kudos though!

Absolutely agree ... w/o AC at 25C on track in helmet and racing suit ... good luck ?

But of course it weighs less ...

You should spec the aircon then feed the cold air straight into the engine bay. You'll be faster for longer!

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

There is no mention of a baffled sump with the 380 Cup. I think it's safe to assume that it would have been mentioned in the press release if there was one, but who knows the spec can change before the first cars are made.

@Jokke Vlo if we want to talk black and white the 360 Cup changes are just cosmetic (although very nice!). '10bhp' comes from air filter element and sports exhaust. There were grooved brakes on some, but not all. Uprated gear linkage on the last few but again, not all.

I was at the factory yesterday... THERE IS a baffled sump..... according to Russell but they FORGOT to mention it on the internet site........... but yes there is.... it wasn't meant to be any dfifferent...

Good news. Thanks for the update.

Granted Lotus have been a bit unclear with the spec but it's a reminder that we shouldn't get too carried away on the internet before we know the full facts!

Please don't confuse me anymore, it's hard enough choosing between 2 colours :-) yours does look gorgeous though, funnily enough I took loads of pictures of your car at the Brands meet a couple of years ago and I've been looking at them quite a lot lately as I try to decide which Orange to go for.

Will you be tracking the Cup @Vipers?

You know me Tom, I would say that is unlikely, hope to start tracking the Caterham this year though so never say never I guess.

Tell us more @Swiss360Cup did you get to see the 380 Cup? if so does it look just as epic in the flesh?

I'm meeting Russell on Monday but he can't guarantee that the Cup will be there unfortunately.

Has the LF1 had it's running in service yet?

Well gentlemen, I was with Russell when they showed us the car...... it was there by chance... but not for long as I think it has to go somewhere on the continent for a show of some kind...... BUT BUT BUT ... the car is just STUNNING and IMHO much better looking than on the pics.... the aerodynamic, wing, etc. Gives her something very different to the others and pretty much a real race car look... I was just delighted... and they put a lot of work and efforts on the aerodynamic job....it shows....... ouahhhhhouuuuuuu you'd buy one as soon as you see it... I'll try post tome nice pics when I get back from different angles than the ones on the internet...... What a car........

The factory tour was just great.... my favorite one was the line where all the 3-11s being finalized were.....there were quite a number, didn't count, buy my guest almost 10, race, road, all colours.....just amazing.... I'd love one of those too for sure.... this car will remain something to collect... I'm not sure there'll be that many of this kind in the foresable future.... thought I'd love it'd be the other way around.....  this factory is unbelievable, with all these people going about their business of assembling cars, without computers, robots...... to the exception of the machine to assemble and precisely fit the body on the car.... and all the colours... the most stunning to me was the Military Grey...it's really a great colour when you see it on the actual car..... pretty special... everybody got their eyes catches by the ones in that colour... it goes well with black carbon panels.....

Echoing what others have said, the wing and other body aero bits look great. I'm not sure what it would offer the driver over a 380 sport other than an emptier wallet?

They must have found 60 left over 2-Eleven adjustable TC dials in a drawer and thought "we can build a new Exige cup around them!"

I've discussed with the engineer in charge of the Cup cars, and he explained they've spent a lot of time and efforts with the aerodynamic of the car and other details to improve it.. I like this way of doing things.... and probably I understood from my discussion that they'll go on like that for quite some time....

It was really interesting my discussion because apparently most clients want the car in the color in which it was presented to the media... more than 50 % every launch... so you'll get a great lot of blue 380 Cups... so to me it's a good idea to go with a color which will be different from the 4-5 they propose as standard, since it will really be unique..... I'm hesitating myself, since there're too many to choose from... I've seen an Evora GTE (yes.... a GTE), being refurbished for a client.. in Military Grey and it was just STUNNING.....

Well..... let's not get carried away again.... both are outstanding car, very desirable but different in terms of philosophy and a lot of other things.... you can LOVE both I guess... so far my preference  is with Lotus for almost a year now and I don't see myself going back..... The Light is Right concept and the minimal electronics is one of the main reason I'm here and my guess is that it would take big changes to make me go back.......and to be honest with you I don't care which one is better, the Lotus driving experience is simply EPIC IMHO....... even at 50 km/h......

Glad to hear that!

I had the chance a couple of days ago to drive the F12 of a friend (one of my dream cars) for a couple of hours ...

very fast car ... had a race bike on the Autobahn that tried to keep up and couldnt ...  top level of quality and workmanship BUT ... my Exige is more fun for me ... EPIC fun driving the Exige ... feeling like a race car ...

So, of the dream car list, ... maybe the 458 Speciale / 488 GTO is closer / better ...

An F12 is an awesome bit of kit but one thing you get in the Lotus (Elise/Exige and Evora) is a feeling of being close to the road. Almost impossible to get in a front engined car really.
