Simple crossgate cable question

Frustrating one this, about to refit the crossgate cable but don't know which hole in the chassis to put it through.  All the instructions I can find say attach string, pull the old cable our and pull the new cable back with the string .  However this is not much help if you bought a car with the cable in a separate box.

I'm guessing it is the top right hole, but would like to confirm before it gets really awkward to change it.

Top right looks correct Martyn. This is my 81 Turbo and you can see the crossgate cable taped to the clutch hose prior to installing engine in the pic and where it comes from.

Definitely looks to be heading upwards. Will give it a try in the morning. Thanks Steve.

Agree with Steve, definitely top right, that’s also where the other end comes out at the shifter side.
