Shaun I might take you up on your sale as I think I got the wrong manifold.. picture attached of my engine and one I bought - looks to me like yours is the right one, mine is a wrong'un - I have sent the picture to Pete too so he can confirm.

Pete was quite receptive, he might be able to fit me in at the end of next month, fingers crossed. I think it helped he had built my engine before (in '17 actually) so knew what he was likely to be dealing with.

I took a drive to their address in Loanhead but they left a couple of years ago according to the locals - I don't think they are trading any more? I called them also but no answer. does anyone here know who?

thanks so much Rambo and John - yes seems to me there is a -dare I say it- epidemic of tradesmen and services being completely unreliable these days. Nobody minds that they are busy and/or understaffed as such but it's all the broken promises along the way that make it so infuriating. I'd be grateful for that garage John, when you have a spare moment.

Hi Team, My engine is leaking oil and it needs a new manifold so it's an engine out job to get new seals and timing belt while we're at it. I am looking for somebody with passion and knowledge for these cars. Can anyone recommend a mechanic -ideally-in Edinburgh or the wider 'Scottish' areas that would be happy to take it on? I have found a couple of garages who said they were happy to do but they have kept me waiting for 8 months now and I want to get this sorted.
