I've just never been a big Porsche fan - I totally respect them, I have been lucky enough to drive a boxster, cayman and 911 on a track, and they are excellent cars - but I just don't get excited by them. Also there are 3 caymans, 2 boxsters and a 911 turbo in the parking lot at work already! I was very interested in the GT-R for a while. I drove one, and again it's an amazing car, but I felt it was a 'tool to go fast' - which for me was a scary thing to take on public roads! I'm just not a crazy fast driver, I guess what I like is a good fun/speed ratio.
I used to own an Elise, and it was AMAZING on the right day - but just a bit too much (hard to get in, noisy, tooth-rattling ride) on the days when I just wanted to get home.
The fun thing about cars is that people think they are talking about engineering, when they are actually talking about religion
