  1. My Exige does not have the race pack, so I understand the switch cannot be enabled. Anybody here qualified to advise how the valve can be safely overridden by other methods?

I don’t want the valve permanently open as I have the 380 system which would definitely annoy the neighbours. It can’t be too complicated to run a new cable from the steering column to the engine bay and add an alternative live feed to the solenoid or whatever controls it, but I guess it needs a relay or diode or something to prevent it feeding back to the ECU. (Clearly I’m no electrician 🫣)

  2. What’s the deal with this car? It seems bizarre that customer cars were apparently being delivered weeks ago, yet the JWW video posted above seems to be the only journalist test of a production spec car, and he wasn’t allowed to use the full power. Is there a problem that nobody’s talking about, or are Lotus (and all the customers) reluctant to share any video/review, or even story of the car being driven in its full 2000 hp form?

  3. That right. There was a firmware update for newer Evora models, but not older ones. Hence my LE needed regular resets. Think the problem was solved when I replaced the compressor, but can’t be entirely sure as I sold the car soon after.

@cdco, a generic ODB reader can’t connect to the a/c ECU so a reset won’t have any effect on it.

Generic reader can’t read the AC error codes, but can reset them 👍

  4. New PIAA horns arrived today. I’ve done a test fit, and I’m happy with the sound. Don’t like the ugly connectors that came with the Eliseparts kit, and the wires are stupidly long. The PIAA kit only comes with wires to connect one horn, which they suggest splicing into the car’s harness. Don’t want to permanently modify the car’s wiring, so I’ve ordered a nicer set of connectors and a crimping tool. I’ll make my own harness adapter to finish the job properly.

Also looks like my ventilation system could be improved by clearing some of the adhesive from the intakes 😂

  5. I got carried away with my little winter maintenance job of cleaning inside the front intakes, and decided to upgrade the utterly pants horn.
I bought the twin electric horn kit from Eliseparts, and it doesn’t come with any instructions. Should be an easy job, but when trying to remove the original horn, I stupidly started slacking off the bolt that fixes the mounting bracket to the crash structure. It just keeps turning, so I guess there’s a nut on the other end. Anybody know how to access it? I’m guessing it’s either behind the wheel arch liner, or I’ll need to remove the front undertray?
