  1. No worries trev! We will be invading the south this summer too...be warned
  2. We here at the nmeg are doing an off the cuff morning meet this sunday...coffee cake breaky possibly. .a few peeps are in attendance...at the moment were thinking around the cannock area as a central meeting place, about 10am...if there is anyone else at a loose end for a couple of hours with their car needing warming up...let us know!
  3. Good effort Phil! You may find that the abs light only goes out after youve driven the car, unless you get espritmon working in which case you can reset it with that.unfortunately computers are not my strong point, but I have experienced.that it doesnt seem to run well on new operating systems...so windows 95 would be grand! But as I say im rubbish with them anyhow...
  4. No the conversion is so convincing no one would know...infact youd probably park next to the mr2 and compliment each other on the quality of each others "genuine" car..
  5. Im sure what was meant was that the data was gained on the laptop whilst driving...and then analyzed later...not analyzed whilst driving....
  6. Having just thrown up a little in my mouth, ive come to the conclusion that some people just arnt good enough to be allowed the privilege of owning an Esprit..if you want to bastardise a car to look like a crap copy of a Ferrari, buy an mr2...
  7. Those arnt kisses after my name are they?!!!!!
  8. Well as mentioned to Dave earlier today, I wont be attending now due to work commitments!...yay...
  9. The repair made is the same as I did on my own car and has lasted 3years so far...and I live in speed bump pothole country! Its q combination if fibreglass and steel....the fibreglass is used firstly to rebuild the whole area, cracked and missing bodywork to regain strength. Then steel plates are bonded in place over this area, then fibreglass layers are again laid over the repair area...the top layers are purely cosmetic really to blend in with the bodywork..its the steel that clamps the newly remade bodywork down across a much much larger area that does the work...
  10. That can be quite a bit...had you checked the level at any previous point? Which would give you an indication of how long its took for the level to drop..it could of course just be the amount sweated out through hose underneath the booster unit to the pump...or simply because brake pads have worn and the caliper pistons are further out..
  11. As mentioned, try the accumulator...it wont do anyharm to have a new one! With regards to the switches, you can use.the original switch to power the low pressure warning and use the new pressure switch to control the pump.. Just a quick note...you said earlier you topped up the system....how low was it? And have you definately got the level on,the right marker inside the reservoir...
  12. Except the temperature in the Esprit engine bay is significantly higher...also, its not just a case of getting a fresh air feed to the intercooler, youve got to get rid of the air that has come through the fins, which will have increased in temperature as it passes..other factors to consider, how big an intercooler would you need to improve upon the existing chargecooler setup, will you be able to supply enough air to it across its full width to make it efficient, if it isnt supplied fully it will loose efficiency drastically...how long will the new inlet track be from turbo to plenum and how will this affect spool up, driving characteristics... Space is at a premium at the business end of the Esprit so fitting a physically large enough unit with a decent feed and exit for air might be tricky, with some serious modifications required.. The final question would be is it worth it and for what gain...a much larger chargecooler radiator at the front will go a long way to improvements at a small cost and hardly any modifications...not that an intercooler application wouldnt work, it would be interesting to see one done properly..but I suspect it would need to be a dedicated no compromise project...not for the faint hearted!
  13. Read my thread on the delco system pinned at the top of this section...its got all the answers you need
  14. Ade, ive got a spare set of oil cooler pipes if you had ended up needing them. And I have a man who can make them up as per originals for a seriously lower price than the originals too..if anyone else is in need!
  15. Any decent hose specialists should be able to.get what you need, what switch are you using now?
  16. Change it all and dont use mickey mouse parts..s4s is different to s4..
  17. I think you were sAved from an overpriced dog from what I gather...and the reality of it is, if you buy a project at 5k, expect it to owe you 20-25k when its done...and that is not costing your own,labour..as an example, the previously mentioned add of the silver car made me both laugh and cringe...his estimated costs must have been based on prices 20 years ago...a grand for a full paintjob did he say? Its this sort of thing that makes a lot of projects overpriced and passed around unfinished...and not to go back into the wheeler dealer con which has been covered in anothexr thread last year...
  18. Ill be starving by then..count me in..
  19. Well according to my Castrol specialist, its being replaced with Castrol Edge 10/60, which (according to the blurb) is a suitable recomended replacement meeting requirements....whether theyve changed the normal Edge to be more suitable, or just dont make the specialist Edge Sport due to low demand who knows..bit like TAF-X, still available from some places, but they stopped making it many moons ago..so its all old stock
  20. Edge sport, as it should! Although its going to be interesting to find the best alternative as Edge sport has been stopped a little while back, so that which is available will at some point dissapear..
  21. Through the body you mean? Down the left side..
  22. Up and over...its not a heavy box and its easy to do.if youve got an engine lift, even easier
  23. Well, unless your experiencing engine temp issues you wont see any gain. If your coolant temp is currently within correct parameters youll see no benefit. I find the whole "lets remove the ac pump etc to gain possible power" thing silly. You will see no difference. Get your ac working and youll have a better gain than removing it.. 24. Thats something I did as a precaution when I replaced the pump too..
