  1. Ok..now the ball is rolling! So far... 1 dodge1979 +1 2 changes +1 3 Chris v8 +1 4 oneshot +1 5 alex gt3 (subject to date)
  2. Or perhaps bibs will allow an add in the forum shop? Surely this mighy drum up interest...
  3. I think a blue S4, a white G turbo and a red early stevens car would finish the line up perfectly...
  4. Yes it would be good to meet..do you know which weekends your free yet or is it organized closer to the time for you? Im thinking of either.the 25th November or 2nd December, both are sundays..
  5. Dave...are you banging your head against the financial wall or the psychological one....
  6. Hqve a read on my thread in this section about getting the delco brake system working well....having worked on an S300 BRAKES as well as my own S4 with the same system, it will help you. I know that they are an excellent system when working correctly!
  7. Yes the industrious chinese....cheap pattern parts and for a reason quite often..
  8. Well considering the poor quality of manifolds currently available from the specialists etc, often over priced, under tested and under developed, a well proven design which has genuine data and testing to back it up is what is needed...and here it is. The ones currently for sale offer no dyno data or longevity testing under harsh conditions. For a price less than original and similar ti the crap imitations out there, who wouldnt want one! Yes as a on the shelf just in case spare it can seem excessive, but its something everyone will need one day I guess... I personally would like one and would do the cost of dyno runs to show its potential on the normal 4pot on my S4, as ive already show in the Esprit chat section the true gains to be had by doing the accepted mods we all talk about and do with my last dyno tuning session. The unfortunate situation still arises where companies are selling products to us that are not properly tested and have unrealistic claims and generally people believe them and pay out good money. But for a proven item which could allow realisation of a better performing, inproved driving experience and compliment nicely the other tweaks we do to enqble their full potential ti be realized...£600 is a snip!! Sold!
  9. As the time of year is approaching fast for group meals etc...its time to organise ours...its briefly been mentioned amongst the group previously and its my turn to take the organisation flag... SO, as we all like to keep our outings less formal and more fun the idea is open to suggestions. So far, we could take a Sunday lunch at a decent place central to all attending, giving an equal distance of travel for all folks so its not a labour..which would evidently be in the similar area to the breakfast meets we attend. Alternatively, we could take it as an end of the season hoon and arrange a destination dinner, but maybe keeping the distance to less than our usual trips, say and hours drive in one direction from a meet up point central to us all. Dates that are suitable to all need to be finalised, id suggest either very late November or early December...too early and its just another trip out..too late and I guess commitments start to get i n the way..so for.those interested, please give your opinion and well decide from there... Oh and one last thing, it would be nice to bring your better halfs!

    Esprit MOT

My mot tester, an old school classic enthusiast garage of restorers and age long experienced guys, noted my power steering had a slight leak...and I mean slight, from the feed hose that goes from the reservoir to the pump. Its only a jubilie clip but its a bugger to get too...he said it would normally be a failure, but as he knows I have no intention of selling the car he didnt mention it further..it does seem that the euro rules can be a little too anal and in the real world out of touch. For example my mothers 307 has done next to no miles since new, yet every year for the the past 5 mots the garage have advised replacement of anti roll bar bushed and the lower arm bushes due to signs of surface cracks...ie tye bush has dried out somewhat...yet they show no signs of damage or wear under test..
  16. I use the pink comma type. Purely because thats what I bought and its compatible with all-alloy engines like ours. As mentioned, dont mix it with different types qnd also mentioned its the characteristics of the coolant not the colour dye that determin its compatibility so check the lable! Also on another note, dont fret too much over particular makes as we dont live in an extreme environment country that would demand a certain performance as such...so long as your system is in good order, clean and efficient there should be.no issues with using any of the varieties available. As bibs mentioned, 'pink' seems to have a longer life span, however as the consciousness owners we all are im sure, the timing belt change should also be done every time with a change of waterpump. This would require a.coolant flush or change, resulting in a coolant change every2 or3 years anyhow deypendant upon you model and year..
  17. Well sounds like there are people off to the Malvern show at three counties ground, weather dependant, just spoke to Ade and hes heading straight there on sunday as Its closer for him than heading over here first for breakfast...so could rondevous with others there if that suits..
  18. There is also the show at Malvern that weekend, classic cars and an autojumble....so we have options! If the weathers ok might make for a nice hour drive out after breakfast... 1) CHANGES..SE modified 2) Chris.. V8 modified . 3) Dodge1979 S4 4) palmergeddon S4
  19. Welcome aboard phil! Ill add you to my list and hopefully well take a day out where you can join us
  20. Its ok john! Were looking to get down to an ace cafe meet before the year is out if you fancy meeting up with us...our resident photographer was unable to make it due to other prior commitments..but im putting together a short video from my incar footage...
  21. Well, since starting this thread ive spoken to a lot of enthusiastic Esprit owners....so it was definately worth doing. We had a trip out through Wales sunday just gone, where our Esprit nuts group grew in numbers again with an additional three owners turning up out of six additional possibilities. As it was their first hoon with us it went smoothly, despitethe weather, and good feedback recieved. So, whilst were probably heading towards the end of the weather for daytripping, we are still planning another trip or two, so if anyone else is interested let me know and ill keep in touch with the details again..
