  3. HI,Just putting new ing leads in ,been soo long just wanted to check that I have it right. From the front I have started with the longest lead,which is no1,then no2 ect.From the front the leads number 1,2,3,4 .I have connected to the coil pack which I dismantled 2 years ago,looking at the pack they number from the front 4,1,3,2 to which I have put the matching number lead to ,is this correct?? Thanks..Paul G.
  4. Sorted the problem was that on of the coolant pipes had been re tightened which made one of the pink silicone hoses too short.I have now bought a longer coolant hose,Thanks
  5. Bought a landrover one on ebay £6.99.I had to macnine the fixing nut.Perfect.

  7. I think that's the excepted clearance.I took out the engine on my S1 and thought the same.Periodically I used to lean over the engine and check it ,it was fine.

I think it's altair green.Took some photos(will take better ones soon) The interior is absolutely perfect and totally original ,the car has been stood for 20 years,the body and running gear looks really good .There are no star cracks just a bit of dull lacquer on the front. I think I will take the body off and go right through it mechanically and a full/part respray.This will make it concourse hopefully.I believe that there was only 5 made in this color . I will get a certificate of providence from Lotus.I am going to have good fun with this one.
  9. Yes,most probably cam tower ,every Esprit that I have owned has leaked from this point.I cured this with anaerobic gasket sealer.

  11. Hi,I have put my engine back in now (S4 Esprit). Has anybody a photo looking at the engine with the charge cooler off.I am trying to locate all the pipes to the turbo.Although I am not struggling(finding pipes that I have put in other places) it would make it easier.Thanks Paul.
  12. Hi,about to put the roll pins in the drive shafts.Are they fitted individually or do you tap them in complete.Cheers.

I will keep delving,it would be nice if there was some historical value.I have found a photo of an Altair green Eclat (I think) that was supposedly used by Margret Chapman.The colour has some thing to do with it.I am only following this because,Chris whom I purchased the car from thought it was mentioned when he bought the car directly from Lotus Cars.

  16. Hi, just put the engine back in and about to fit the new rubber gear box mount .I am not sure which way they go,can somebody please let me know or can you post a picture,thanks. I have just purchased a clutch slave repair kit,on inspection the slave is knackered,can I get one from my local factors??

You never know,I will just have to wait and see.Lovely car though,because it has not been used for 19 years I an thinking of taking the body off and do a full restoration.The interior is mint condition and needs nothing doing to it there is not a mark or blemish on it. I know it's metallic green with green interior but it looks fantastic.

  20. Hi,I bought this car a while back,it came with no keys.Thanks to TLF I have now got some and they fit. I contacted Chris whom i purchased the car from and he tells me that he was the second owner of the S3,the first bring Lotus Cars.He believes this car was possibly Colin Chapmans car.Alas I have contacted Lotus and although they were very helpful they have no history records so cannot help me.Can anybody help me or does anybody know if there is an archive where this kind of info is stored.Thanks Paul Godfrey.
  21. Hi,I am just about to tension my cam belt ,I am using a Sykes Picavant Tensioner which is in Kgs.The Burrows setting is 95units.Do I take the reading from the same place and does anybody know what the reading should now be ,thanks.
