Hi,the gear change should be pretty good,I had problem with mine and it turned out to be the clutch pedal had unwound it's self from the master causing the shaft to bend instead of a full push therefore it was dragging big time.Thanks Paul G.

Hi,at last I have got round to cleaning the outside of the Esprit I purchased about three weeks ago.The car had been garaged for ten years,last taxed 1994.As with any car that has been stood for a long time it it a risk as to what you are going to find,but I was pepared tho take the risk. So far new fuel pump,new carb diaphrams new cam belt and tensioner.She started first time and the clutch freed straight away also brakes all free.Gear box good and all electrics working.The overall condition seem to match the 30,000 miles on the clock.No doubt I will come across some major problems.Fingers crossed Paul G.

Ian ,it look kike it,s youre diaphrams leaking.Phone SJ sportscars he can supply just the diaphrams if that is all you need.I did mine on my S3 last week,I took one carb off and did one in situ I think it took about an hour and a half.Paul G...

Today I have found out that the otter wires have been spliced together under the dash,this would mean that they were on the time .I will trace the wires back further to see if there is a switch,Anyway your help was great thanks for helping me solve this problem.Paul..

OK ,today I have byepassed the thermal overload and sorted out the relays.I have located the two wires which go to the otter switch.The problem that I have now is that with the otter switch disconnected the fans ,when wired up stay on .Ideas anybody?? Thanks Paul G.

Something strange going on here,no thermal switch and at the moment there is no gap between the relays.It looks like the car has had a repair to the front I think parts have been removed and not have been put back. I was wondering does any body know if there is somebody has an S3 or S3 turbo close to me .I live at Weston S mare nr Bristol.I would like to see one so I can get an idea of what I need to fix it ,Paul G.

Hi,can you tell me is the thermal cutoff switch attached to the inner wheel arch because I have a cluster of wires that go into a femail connection,but no male to connect to??? See my second picture far right.

Hokey dokey,my car has three fans fitted to it.I have now bought a relay that was missing,it looks that on my first picture there is a connecting block that is resting on the the rubber inspection cap that should have a femail connector on it .I am wondering if that is where the two wires should go to because there is no evidence of any cut wires,whatever has been removed has been unplugged not cut? Hi,I have just finished installing three new rad fans.At the front (drivers side is the otter switch) but no wires.I cannot locate them,I have taken some photos to see if anybody can see them or the connections where the two wires should go.Ps there is no otter switch in the rear. Thanks Paul G.

At last I have done it,after 24 yrs and 70,000 miles I have broken the 100,000 mile barrier and I still can,t walk past my Esprit without still looking at it.A whole lot of things have gone on in that time but that,s another story(see owners page -Paul Godfreys Esprit) Since meeting all you guys at different functions it make me proud to be part of the Esprit community,I can,t mention every one but LEW &LEF you are all diamond geezers.I hope to be part of this clan for a lot longer Yet. I have just purchased a late S3.There is something strange about the fans/rad configuration.something has been relplaced and the metal fans are fouling the rad.On my X180 that I have now sold it has plastic ford fans which are the fans that i need,but I am not sure which Ford,your help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks Paul G.

Hi ,I .Has anyone replaced the speedo light in the binnacle on an S3 .if so ,how?? Do I need to remove the binnacle or can I gain access from the front (black plastic surround ) Your help is needed Paul G.

Hi ,you'll love this one.When I go to Lotus do's ,which is quite often.I just can't stand (I mean it ) the wiper on the G Esprits not being horizontal.So if you see any body touching your wipers,it's me ,don't worry i'll be gentle.

I found this in the Esprit I bought on the weekend. It is vintage 1994 unopened.

Hokey dokey,today put the battery on cranked the engine over by hand to check the cam belt,and was amazed to see how clean it was at the front of the engine.Powered her up everything working lights,horn indicators ect.Fuel pump contacts stuck so I have cranked her over to get the oil round , I have question for S3 owners,Firstly there seem to be foot well sensors each side are the immobilisers?? Secondly there is a switch just under the steering wheel ,it looks factory fitted .What does it do. Thanks Paul G.
