Last I heard the esprit, even back in June, was developed beyond the point of no return.... Kimbers, bibs and I right? Engines and mules up and running? By that point it would be economically insane to throw those development dollars away. Though part of me does hope they at least redesign the concept so it shows more esprit DNA. I though the élan concept had more esprit DNA in some respects.

PROJECT: PHOTO! An Esprit in every factory colour...ever!

V nice,... I thought the 300 sports in yellow was a pearl too? -
This action by bahar forges my passing dislike of him into a full blown seething tangle of red hot malice. You totally disregarded the core brand values of lotus. You pissed off everyone who likes lotus. You nearly sent them to the wall! And now younare trying to twist the knife??? Pay him the money. Pay it now so we can forget about him. I never want to hear his name again, his name will be struck from the stone as far as I am concerned. And there is no way I'm buying that filthy v8 esprit he did up at the companies expense. It is cursed!!!!

Exhaust camshaft on its way forward due to loose setscrew

Shoot I've already removed the heat shield and spacers and didn't mark down where they came from fully as some fell off before I could grab them... -
Exhaust camshaft on its way forward due to loose setscrew

If I just want to replace the O ring on mine do I need to take the timing belt etc off and crank it 90 etc. or can I just take off the heat shield, remove the end and swap the orings out? -
Gah it's the lower of the two heads end seal!! How do I fix it?? **as in if I put my hand down the side of the lower cam head (the lower of the two cam head) on the end of that lower head adjacent to the heat shield I can feel a small oil leak. No oil is dripping onto that heat shield itself it's running down the lower cam head and dripping onto the join between the manifold and extension piece. Is this what you say is an end seal leak? Or is something else?

Hahaahahah. If it is from the turbo which I'm strongly suspecting it is how do I fix it? Is it safe to say that an often used car won't develop any NEW leaks ie if I have no end seal issues no intake cam pulley leaks, driveshaft leaks, oil in spark plug wells etc etc if I keep driving it regularly I should be ok?

The Indy 500 is a good dry tire and nice looking but only rears available. The only white lettering tire available for all four corner isf the bf Goodrich radial ta which is not speed rated (but I don't care because I never exceed the 180 speed rating anyway - who would on public roads!!!) -
Yes there is a heat shield that's what I can't see past. This has never happened before and I drive it every week. Sometimes twice. And the turbo oil return pipe has been leaking for some time but only ever a few drops and always going straight onto the ground never onto the manifold. I never worried about it given it was such a tiny amount. My nose has bled more in one go than the car has lost oil in a month type thing And by the look of the oil on the manifold/extension piece join its still only a tiny amount only now it's on e manifold not the ground so it's smoking when hot!
-
So I looked there is literally just oil on the area where the manifold meets the extension piece but I can't see above there where it's coming from. So it is oil burning off, no oil loss I can see its very small. I can see the cam heads and no leaks around there so not the cam gasket. What is an end seal?

Do the bf Goodrich radial ta (S rated), it's not speed rated but when are you ever going to do more than 180km/h?! Keeps the handling feel original then because the sidewall height is correct. You also get that original white lettering your car was meant to have. Excellent dry grip. Tyre shack.com they are in Wollongong. -
Hey guys I'm getting very light smoke coming from between the exhaust manifold and manifold "extension piece" or the area around there - hard to pinpoint. No oil on top of the manifold I can see looks reasonably clear and the smoke is not blue nor does it smell like oil burning off the manifold. Could there be a small gap (ie worn seal) between the manifold and extension piece or ...?? Can I still drive the car? I still have full power full boost no weird noises, no hesitation, starts fine etc etc..... But I smelt the smoke and saw it lightly rising from the glass back then when I opened the tailgate and lifted the engine cover I saw a very small intermittent stream of grey smoke.

so its worked all good and the leather itself is in fine condition albeit it very slightly faded as one would expect. its nowhere near needing replacement however so i will refurbish the interior using the existing leather, giving it a leatherique condition x 3 before putting it back in and of course the main part which is FOAM REPLACEMENT. This is a problem though, see the pictures, the underside had the square foam attached to the frame which is fine, easy to replace with a new square (any ideas on what type though?) but more of a problem is the foam under the white fabric attached to the leather itself. as you can see its sewed onto the leather and the foam is long since decayed into nothing, where the heck can i get this fabric with foam attached to replace???

Would the 300 sport be the widest? Some websites list it at 1900mm? The v8 seems to be 1883mm but I swear the arch extensions on the 300 sport were wider still?

i looked at the white one in the shannons showroom purely by chance - i was out visiting a client and the showrroom was across the road and i saw it there. aside from the from damage from the tow bar which is very minor and easily fixed the car is a 9/10 example 35k is high but i think 30k is reasonable to pay for it, the prices are starting to creep up.
