Ok thanks for the info gt111, just thought it was odd no noise, I will leave that one now, I see you have a S1 too, im looking for a set of discs and pads but the choice is huge(from cheap to silly money) any advice? want to keep it standard but more upto date if you know what I mean, Regards

Hi all, im new to the site and have introduced myself on the forum, need a bit of advice on which brake discs to buy, need a full set for my new purchase which is a 2000 w redg elise S1, new to lotus and ive looked and there seems to be endless discs out there, would like to keep it original but a bit more upto date if you get my meaning, any advice please.

Well I have just purchased my first Lotus elise s1 year 2000, in good condition too, but don't have much working knowledge on them, this site was recommended so here I am, im really excited as its now a bit of a winter project for me, so a couple of basic questions if anyone can help. The alarm beep when armed does not sound the lights flash as supposed too but no sound, checked fuses as per handbook and the car is standard, also discs and pads need changing all round any tips on what to buy not expensive? I want to keep it standard and its not for the track, I just want to bring it in to the 21st century, Regards Mike
