  1. Super slow reply from me there. Afraid I am yes. Love the car to bits, but I can't keep it, it deserves better than being left outside overnight and doing a commute everyday, it's also been the most unlucky car I've ever owned, and despite loving it, I'm finding myself wanting a fast normal car. Once it's all fixed and all the minor bits are repaired it will be for sale
  2. Hello All, Unfortunately some bugger reversed into my Elise on Monday and I need a new clamshell. Having spoken to Back on Track they said these are on back order and can take upto 6 months! Bell and Colvil seemed a little more optimistic stating over a month. Anyone know what the issue is with getting them? Or anywhere to get one sooner? Typical this happens on the day I decide to sell the car, and now I've got a massive delay! Grrr.
  3. You do indeed, sadly I was too young for all of them.
  4. Sure thing. I went with Adrian Flux in the end and am paying £1300 with all the mods declared and a small excess. Bear in mind I also have one accident and 3 points too.
  5. Ooh thanks for that link! That's really useful. Ok my flames aren't that big! Not all about size, or is it?
  6. A little, part 41 looks a bit like the pin I'm talking about. Have you got one of those diagrams for the wall area under the rear window? That's where I need to get into I think. On another note, captured a flame on my mates GoPro today. Was brilliant!
  7. Hello all. I've just opened up the engine cover on my Elise as as I propped it up with the stick, the left hinge just fell out. The black aluminium thingy is still bolted to the lid, but it just slides in and out of the gap. Upon looking closer it appears it should be held in place with a pin that slots across horizontally, this pin though is slid all the way across to the right allowing the hinge to fall out. I can just about get my finger to it but can't get enough room to slide the pin back. Anyone else had this? Am I right that it is held in by a pin? Any other way to get access to slide it across?
  8. My first Lotus Forums meet, great to meet several of you and put some faces to names, even better that it was at my workplace. I headed off early to get to family commitments, seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves, heard some really nice comments on my car too which was lovely. Really enjoyed the parade laps, even though I had to passenger in mine as it was pace car. I totally forget to get any photos though, so looking forward to seeing what others got! Of course goes without saying, great job done by Bibs and the team today, made things nice and easy to manage on our side. Big thanks from me for an awesome event!
  9. Yeah so I'm feeling pretty thick right now. Thanks Sparky, all is well again.
  10. Just realised I haven't posted any photos yet! Will sort that soon. In other news the car has about 1,000 miles done in my care now. Last week I had a Larini Club Sport and Hurricane Induction fitted, I then did 500 miles this weekend with them. WOW! Sounds just as good as I hoped it would. I've read the exhaust settles down after a 1,000 miles or so, and I hope it does, the bit of motorway I did, it was just too loud at 80mph, I could have slowed down, but opted for the earplugs instead. Sounds insane through tunnels.
  11. The what? I should have added I'm only 2 weeks into Lotus ownership.
  12. Hello All, Over a 500 miles road trip over the weekend, and luckily after the hail and rainstorm, my wipers played up and now don't work. I was stopped at some lights and used the windscreen washer, the wiper came half way across the screen, and stopped, I pulled the stalk again, and it seemed like it thought it was in rest position so the wiper proceeded to wipe but bumping into the end of the screen repeatedly before stopping completely. Now when I try to turn the wipers on the motor makes noise, the arm attempts to move, but doesn't have the power to. Last owner never took the car out unless it was sunny and lovely, so lack of use, and then sudden heavy use killed it I guess. Is the wiper motor buggered? Or is there something I can reset? Had a little look at parts, do I just need a new motor, or the assembly too? Where best to get this? Is it the same as off another car and I can just buy that part for cheaper? I also see the motor replacement is a clam off job, as luck would have it the clam is coming off next week anyway for some repairs so I can do it then. Thanks in advance Tom
  13. I'll have to think of something. His brother also taught me at the same school and I'm rather getting the 2 of them mixed up. Plenty of gossip from school, but nothing much involving the RE teachers at a Catholic school for some reason...
