  1. Moderators - this is really useful info. Can it be copied into its own thread (or a relevant existing one) so it’s easy for people to find in future? I appreciate it’s also an important point for people looking at used cars, so has relevance here. Thanks for the inputs from knowledgeable folks. I’m going up a steep Esprit learning curve at the moment!
  2. *** NOTE: the average speed cameras on the road from Silent Pool/Albury junction to Newlands Corner are now active in both directions *** Time for another Sunday breakfast gathering for some of the finest bacon rolls around. This is our regular third Sunday of the month event, a chance to gather with like-minded enthusiasts and a cross section of Lotus models. Everyone welcome and we look forward to attendees from The Lotus Forums, SELOC, Lotus Drivers Club and Club Lotus. An informal gathering with no particular runs in or out organised, just a chance to chat, look at cars and take in the view. Join from 9.00 when the café opens for bacon rolls. We'll probably be around until 10.00/10.30. Location map for Newlands Corner here
  3. Thanks for the parking pass Bibs and Lotus. The marshals initially parked me alongside all the factory EVs. When I went back later, Lotus had moved them all and left mine in splendid isolation.
  4. Yes, Gav in the green road car ahead. Interviewed at the top and said they’d fix it overnight. They must have a lot of duct tape ☹️
  5. Can I have a performance car parking ticket for Thu please. Thanks Bibs and Lotus!
  6. Scary! I had half a house brick come off a skip lorry and hit the Elan windscreen directly in my eye line. Seeing it coming was definitely worse than not seeing! Most insurers are OK with your dealer supervising the replacement. Telling them there’s a risk of paint or panel damage if done badly usually persuades them.
  7. It's been organised for a few years now via the Lotus Owners groups on Facebook and elsewhere: https://www.facebook.com/events/645309264288400 Route planning and avoiding roadworks and sections covered by 50mph average speed cameras are as important as brisk driving and staying awake all night!
  8. Activated 7th March. They'd been in place since November.

Did you have to buy the whole unit with all the buttons or just the exhaust button? I have the stealthy option but would add the labelled/illuminated switch if easy to do.
  11. Congratulations and welcome. You've made a great choice of car and forum! Lots of helpful Evora owners on here if you have questions or problems.

Thanks Bibs! 👋 Had a great cross country run down to the recently opened Caffeine & Machine near Petersfield for breakfast. Hindhead Tunnel each way, rude not to!

I've got 2 deposits down, both placed in Feb 2023 after I cancelled my original order. On advice from CS at the time, one was supposed to be in the V6 FE queue and the other in the V6 Base queue - the idea being that whenever Base Edition specs, options pricing and timings were eventually published then I could choose FE or Base and cancel the other one. Had an email last August asking me to confirm my spec if I wanted to avoid a price increase, so submitted spec on one order. No updates from Lotus since then. I missed a call from Lotus CS last week. Called them back today. They said both my orders won't now be built until 2026, whether FE or Base. Said it's because they are building non-UK FEs and i4s. Couldn't tell me anything about Base or when any info will be published. I haven't chased them over the last year, as I'm fine running my other cars for now and I am probably leaning towards Base if the pricing and options are sensible, so waiting for the Base info. Surprised that info STILL isn't published, when it was due "in a few months" in Feb 2023. Not surprised that CS still don't have any decent info. At this rate buying a lightly used 2023 FE later this year at 12 months old and stripping out the stuff I don't want will be cheaper than a new Base ... which isn't even available for another TWO YEARS. It'll be three years after I placed the deposit. And Lotus are wondering why people are losing interest. CS person I spoke to today said they were contacting people with deposits who hadn't submitted specs, which had turned up people who had forgotten about their deposits, were now untraceable or had died.

Useful info. Do you mean Mick Gardner Racing, who helped Lotus with the GT430 suspension setup? https://www.mickgardnerracing.com

That's worrying! Mine had it's annual service in Feb and was all clear. I left the suspension on the Fast Road settings, which were fine. Goodwood has a very good surface so I could have adjusted to Track, but I'd have had to take jack and tools with me. The roads on the way there and back would have ripped off the splitter if I'd set it to Track at home and driven there!
