    Emira GT

Repeated denials from Lotus about a GT or similar version of the Emira, both officially and behind the scenes. My hunch is the V6 Emira will be phased out, probably without a higher spec "Final Edition", linked to when it becomes non-compliant with European emissions regulations. Possibly sooner. The i4 will continue and I think the Emira S will be a higher output version of that. I still have a deposit down speculatively for an Emira GT/S/Final but don't hold out any hope of one appearing. I'd be more inclined to buy a used First Edition and modify it to a personal GT spec. Plenty of aftermarket options around and in development. Power upgrade, front splitter, rear aero kit, adjustable Ohlins, lightweight wheels, titanium exhaust, Tillett seats would be pretty fun. If I didn't already have an Evora GT430 I'd go down this route.
  2. Welcome! Congratulations on joining a very exclusive club, not just of Evora owners but of bike-carrying Evora owners 😀
  3. Clearing the code will be fine and won't invalidate warranty. If you can, do an export of the log and error codes first. If it's a genuine fault with the sensor then the warning will come back again. Varta have been solid and reliable batteries on Evoras. Blue was the OEM fit, with a 3 year warranty. Silver is another £20-30 but has a 5 year warranty. As Bibs says, leave the ignition off for 30 mins before swapping.
  4. *** NOTE: the average speed cameras on the road from Silent Pool/Albury junction to Newlands Corner are now active in both directions *** Time for another Sunday breakfast gathering for some of the finest bacon rolls around. This is our regular third Sunday of the month event, a chance to gather with like-minded enthusiasts and a cross section of Lotus models. Everyone welcome and we look forward to attendees from The Lotus Forums, SELOC, Lotus Drivers Club and Club Lotus. An informal gathering with no particular runs in or out organised, just a chance to chat, look at cars and take in the view. Join from 9.00 when the café opens for bacon rolls. We'll probably be around until 10.00/10.30. Location map for Newlands Corner here
  5. I had something similar on the GT430 mid last year, random rough running and bank 2 sensor codes. Would also stay “on throttle” with no pedal input rather than idling. Cleared itself when turned off and left for 20-30 mins. Intermittent and hard to replicate. I thought it was sensors. Turned out to be a sticky supercharger bypass valve.
  6. Welcome and congratulations. That looks stunning. I hope the interior, mechanicals and electrics are as well-maintained as the exterior.
  7. Great to meet you on Sunday at Newlands Corner and congratulations again on your lovely Evora. I don't have any insights on local installers, hopefully someone will respond soon on this thread. If you haven't already seen it, you will find this thread useful:

Another fantastic holiday on the Isle of Man with Lotus friends and the epic GT430. Amazing scenery and derestricted roads.

  10. That's how Lotus will spin 🙄 it. They're one of several contributors. Hope have done a lot of the frame work. Great to see a Lotus logo on a winning track bike again and the new world record in yesterday's womens' sprint was some epic riding by the team.
  11. Yes, spotted and responded on SELOC too. A lovely sunny 3-hour GRRC run from Dungeness. My car already glows in the dark - maybe now some of these boring grey cars will as well
  12. Moderators - this is really useful info. Can it be copied into its own thread (or a relevant existing one) so it’s easy for people to find in future? I appreciate it’s also an important point for people looking at used cars, so has relevance here. Thanks for the inputs from knowledgeable folks. I’m going up a steep Esprit learning curve at the moment!

  14. Thanks for the parking pass Bibs and Lotus. The marshals initially parked me alongside all the factory EVs. When I went back later, Lotus had moved them all and left mine in splendid isolation.
  15. Yes, Gav in the green road car ahead. Interviewed at the top and said they’d fix it overnight. They must have a lot of duct tape ☹️
