  1. As you dont seem to be able to put this post to rest. Yes they both did sell for the asking price. Buyer wanted a turbo chassis for his cutomer's project and the S2 hubs brakes etc to ensure the chassis had all the running gear- His cleint has commissioned a 1965 Marcos Mantis XR replica. Some of you may know what they represent in the world of prototype sportcar racing, Only one was built. one of the first mid engined Le Mans type racers with a BRM V8 and some stunning advanced bodywork and glass structures. The company building the car maintains many classic racers for their customers so this should be a stunning car when finished. S2 engine, Citroen gearbox, turbo bodywork, S2 interior wheels and all the other bits they dont want will be disposed of or skipped as they wont have any need for them. I dont have them anymore. Sorry to disapoint the forum trolls, go and pick on something else.
  2. Thanks for the support lads. Just to let you know they both sold today. They are going to be reincarnated, or at least the turbo chassis is into a Marco Mantix XP from 1968 - look it up it is quite a beast. Using the Turbo chassis re jig the engine compartment and a Repco Brabham V8 or DFV Ford engine. The S2 will be donating its hubs etc. There will be some parts available - the team at Maynard Motorsports in Stroud will be building it and will be wanting to get rid of all bodywork and interior trim parts including the digital clock!!! I have been a member of quite a few forums as I usually refer to them for help with a new model of car, I have to say there are quite a few trolls on this one who would rather make nasty comments than assit. so thanks for nothing and goodbye
  3. This is the link to the project I have for sale ebay item number 131504121366 I am not able to complete what I planned due to other projects and space so I want to sell it all on as opposed to split for parts. 1979 S2 with fire damage to the rear and almost complete interior, although time ravaged, it is all there and I have restored far worse. DVLA will re register it once MOT is completed Chassis is wrecked but this car is a useful source of parts or could be combined with.... 1983 Turbo chassis and body - chassis is mostly complete apart from rear gearbox mount Body is missing drivers door, glass roof and rear hatch - passenger door and a post have taken a hit. It is all repearable, but could donate its rear shell and chassis to the S2 I was planning to use the Turbo chassis with an Audi 2.7 bitrubo V6 from and S4 and good for 500bhp with a turbo upgrade and re map and audi 6 speed tansaxle - however I have promised the family I will complete my 1973 BMW 3.5 CSL batmobile racer first. Although recenlty I like the idea of a White S1 replica - bond style Whoever goes for it can make their own mind up. I have reduced the price recently but cannot go down any further. Otherwise I will put them into storage. The Ebay ad has more pictures and the whole 'shebang' is viewable in North Shropshire, call or text me on 07768157170 or on walker.hugh@gmail.com
  4. I will post up in for sale however I thought I would post here first. I have an 1983 turbo shell chassis and interior and a S2 complete but with singed rear end. I was going to put the turbo back on the road with an Audi 6 speed transaxle and 2.7 bi turbo. However the fact that I am very busy with work and have 2 other projects mean I cannot really take them on. So both are gojng to go either as parts or complete. I got as far as buying the Audi transaxle and sourced a suitable engine.
  5. My 1983 S3 turbo restoration project is missing its glass roof and rear hatch. These may be hard to find, so i was wondering if a Stevens roof section would be the same fitting? Also would the later hatch engine cover also fit. I guess it is all about how much of the architecture was changed in the re design, ie if the fixing points for some items remianed the same?
  6. Hi. I am looking for an s3 glass roof panel and rear hatch. Anyone have these lying around
  7. yes The red one has the complete body and the Turbo styling and the chassis is in good conditon. Having had a look at engine transplants I am looking at Turbo Audi 4 cylinder or perhaps V6 Bi turbo. Just weighing up the options. Engine and box from the silver car will be revived checked over and be for sale in the near future
  8. Hi I have just taken pssesion of 2 Esprits, one a slightly singed S2 and the other a S3 turbo body and chassis, passenger door impact. Between them I have all the parts for one car suitable for some track action and If I can revive the V5 on the road too. I plan to start the work i the new year, however I want to do as much research as possible on the best options. plus also organise some missing parts, glass turbo roof and rear hatch some trim panels I plan to sell the 912 engine and box once cleaned up and checked over use something else more relaible and tunable and low cost so will be looking for the best options. As well as incorporate as many useful mods and fixes for the day to day problems these cars head. I am fairly handy with a spanner having rebuilt an Audi RS4 B5 from a shell and a box of varios bits, built a track and hillclimb lancia integrale EVO 1 and undertake all manner of running repairs on my cars, plus I have a 1973 BMW 3.5 CSL batmobile in the garage being built up from a 3.0 CSI shell and long term project to sell on pay for the house. The 2 Esprits were in a scrapyard which was about to be closed and all the contents crushed and sent to china, so pretty much a rescue and for about £400 each a complete no brainer in my mind. so Hi and any help appreciated.
