Yes everything here kept ultra compact for the Sunbeam. Apparently this engine used Vauxhall Redtop injectors all run by an Alpha ecu.

There was a Sunbeam Lotus Turbo with a very compact turbo arrangement. Maybe best suited for point and squirt racing. I think it's engine was recently parted out on ebay. Paul Gwinnett Lotus Sunbeam Turbo

Hi Brian, I remember reading in Tony Rudd’s book that the flexplate flywheel was a development to alleviate a quirky pulse shock loading on the end of the crankshaft. Something to do with flywheel inertia, they were finding the cranks were starting to fail as the engine got bigger. I can’t remember exactly but I don’t think the Turbos had the same issue. The Auto flex plate is even flimsier. - Jeremy

Hi Dave, just wondered - the marks may look aligned but are they level with the sprocket centers?
