  1. read back through the thread man.... The original question was what is the NA power of the V8...... then it moved onto why T25s and not T3s or T4s etc.... We could hi-jack the thread completely and talk about the V8 turbos in more detail and what is possible to improve performance?
  2. wot no BOVs?..... hopefully you get a couple of BOVs as well?....
  3. If the thread was about real world road performance, then I would agree.... but the topic was engine power output and the choice of turbos. That has everything to do with crank power
  4. I also replaced the door mirrors with racing versions - I think that it is a nice mod, but be sure that you still have sufficient vision. Mike S
  5. The cf deck saves approx 30 Kg over the standard item. The rear tailgate itself has remained unchanges since the introduction of the V8, but might be influenced by the mounting of the rear wing. The figure quoted is for the tailgate alone.
  6. Hey CCMDoc, The engine is not a dry sump engine - overfilling is not a good idea for the obvious reasons. I
  7. There is an IAT sensor already fitted and used by the ECU - can you not take your
  8. priceless!..... Keep the deck.... explain to her that is will make the Esprit even more exclusive..... get it fitted and enjoy it.... then if you need to you can sell it later, probably for more than you paid for it .......
  9. 3rd gearbox...... what engine mods do you have? Sounds like you need to invest in a Quaife 6-speed !.... either that or you
  10. ... I would agree that the grooved discs should be superior to the drilled ones. If you
  11. For me, the BOV is more for function than for audible pleasure..... provided it
  12. Interesting post. Some good advice on replacement CATs. However, The destruction of the turbos has got nothing to do with CAT removal. This is more likely to do with other modifications (boost upgrades and chipping ECUs) that may have taken the turbos out of their ideal operating range. I bet that in all of these cases the boost will have been increased. If you
  13. As a general rule, the Esprit was not intended as a hardcore track machine. But Lotus has always delivered Esprit specials that were built with this in mind: e.g. X180R, Sport300 and the Sport350 The beauty of the Esprit is not only in the body/styling, but also the chassis and handling characteristics. It can be made to give outstanding and controllable handling, with performance to back it up. Don
  14. Looks like a pretty tidy solution Dave.... just swap out one coupling for another with a T peice for the BOV. I now remember why this option was not considered before. The actual gap between the cast compressor duct and the inlet elbow is about 5mm. THe PNM kit fits over the top and allows the charge to escape through this 5mm space between the cast parts (see below): This shot shows the orginal duct positions which were replaced on my project. You can see how little space there is between the two ducts, but clearly just enough to allow the BOV to vent the charge. Mike S
  15. Yes Dave, it means you have a very, very fast Esprit!....
