  1. Tackled the one dash speaker behind the pod. Swapped the speaker over but have sacked off the refitting of the pod today as I can’t be arsed the stereo is just a cheap car play unit and I have to say it really is impressive for £30🤣 - popped off the silver trims and sprayed them satin black.
  2. Many folks hate it @eeyoreish 😂 - I’ve no idea where I am with it tbh. I simply could not pass up the opportunity to buy it.
  3. Good spot @MPx. The exhaust is a 2.5” stainless set up that was knocked up. It’s significantly more flowing than the old unit that did indeed have two small tips. Only time will tell if it’s ok or not but it does sound fab.
  4. What a coincidence just as I’m about to need a new project - must be fate @johnpwalsh. I’ll arrange collection 👌
  5. It’s a love it or hate it car chaps - I’m afraid it’s likely she will stay just as she is. this evening I even fitted a stereo unit to it. Roll on the SJ delivery Monday and it’s mot time.
  6. Nah @stephenwhyte she’s a diamond in the rough. The rear deck needs a sympathetic paint repair but that’s about as far as I’m gonna go with the bodywork.
  7. More stuff sorted today to include:- interior lights fitted - all of that is custom trim on the st Tropez Electric windows fixed, runners and motors cleaned and refitted. dash fitted back together. Wind screen wiper fitted. bonnet stay removed - soaked in diesel and cleaned - it now lifts and lowers without issue. Shes so very close now to being able to take to MOT
  8. More progress this morning. The rear hatch is now bolted onto the car. There’s a spare lump of wiring loom by the drivers side headlight - I’ve no idea what it’s for. The windscreen wiper needs refitting but I’m sure there’s a shim or something missing from the pantograph bit - but looking on deroure it appears not - I wonder if it’s got a later arm. got interrupted by Don and him wishing to tidy some stuff to make space for a tractor so that’s taken a couple of hours up.
  9. A couple of hours down the unit yesterday. All the engine surrounds bolted in, boot floor fitted, air intake pipes and filter housing fitted, driveshafts installed, air horns bolted back on and pipes replaced that were just powder, vacuum reservoir fitted to top of tank. All small things but there’s far less of a pile of parts in the unit now.
  10. Tonight we solved the fuel pressure issue - blocked line into tank. Cleared with an airline. oil lines back pumped - and that took some real doing to get going. the electronic box fitted up, spark checked and it was time to turn the key. she fired up almost immediately - I’m stoked tonight
  11. So - fuel cut off switch needed cleaning. That sorted the fuel pump out. the Ignition switch is something else with some fettling that now works. getting the fuel pressure sorted seems an issue though - the regulator does chuff all and the pump runs at what looks like over 20psi on the gauge I have - it’s flooded the engine terrible and won’t adjust down. abandon ship for today until I can get a second pair of eyes on this - oh and to allow the fuel that’s now everywhere to evaporate
  12. Yeah - done that one chap - I’ll get busy on it shortly. I’m pretty sure I’ve heard the fuel pump run when I was playing with the electrical stuff before the engine went back in and I popped the cut off switch.
  13. Pretty sure @C8RKH they can be problematic when hot. Buy a later fuel injected car and the issue ain’t there 😎
  14. Gearbox oil swapped yesterday. Some fettling on the turbo and inlet to get stuff lined up nicely. Rear cross member refitted along with the extra braces that are unique to the St Tropez . stuck a battery on the old girl - I get ignition lights and the electrics work - but no fuel pump running and no starter engagement. I gave up at that point for fear of a Basil Fawlty moment. I’ll have a brew and go and take another look today.
  15. Wind it in - you’ll offend the lefties
  16. Saying Israel is acting proportionately is like saying Adolf Hitler was misunderstood.
  17. Frankly these warmongering criminals need taking to task. Same should go for Tony Blair.
  18. Yes @910Esprit I got them from SJ. Didn’t notice a thread difference but maybe didn’t look tbh. I did whack on some thread tape though. The reason for the swap was a multitude of reasons. Alunox didn’t have the earlier manifold off the shelf - as it happens it took me months to get round to it so that wouldn’t have mattered. The old manifold was cracked anyway and the turbo was shot so that needed rebuild. It was simple economics and the later setup was simpler, cheaper and just a better setup. Just need to figure out where to cut in the water cooling pipes now.
  19. Refurbed turbo is now back on the car. Some minor fabrication and it now has a full stainless exhaust to go along with it. We are edging ever close to start up day.
  20. Had the damage assessed today. £3025…..
  21. it was before this magazine tbf - probably since I was about 15. In 1994 I saw the St Tropez that’s now in the garage and lusted madly. In 1996 I had the money to buy and esprit and looked at an S1, an Essex and one of those fibreglass fezza 308s that used to be sneered upon. I bought a house instead. So that kinda explains my now mental illness and owning a few along the way.
  22. Turbo arrived this morning - luckily the UPS driver rang me as TT had used the farm address they had on file 🤪 - the gate was locked at the end of the drive so he called - that was lucky 🤣 anyway - it’s a thing of beauty - how’s this for a transition @Escape
  23. The video I have of the whole incident frankly isn’t great. I’m glad I wasn’t in the van at the time tbh. it is a joke - the police are a complete shower
  24. And she’s been bailed again pending cps review/decision. its an utter joke
