  5. Fabian As soon as Andy has finished with my ski mounts would you like to borrow them? they may help you
  6. Thanks Fabian about comment on other car Andy its probably best if I post you one of the top and one of the bottom as would be very difficult to do profile measurement's, is a 2-3 week loan enough time, the top one should be identical to the one in the movie, the bottom one has an extra 4 inches of fiberglass on the bottom as it needs trimming at a strange angle you will see what I mean when you receive, wont be able to post till next week, with regards to the bottom mount bracket you may not need them as the skis should hold them in place but that's up to you to decide. My email is mjsproperties@hotmail.co.uk
  7. Andy I got mine made by Boss motors in Norfolk he has the original moulds from Lotus from the movie, they have to be trimmed up
  8. I painted the front valance on mine satin black and the sills white, more cost effective that way if I wanted to change them to satin black if I changed my mind, I will send further pictures once the car is finished
  9. between 7 and 7 1/2 ltrs I've just done mine
  10. Try phoning Matt on 07816666056 UK number I know he has a spare dry sump engine and also rebuilds them
  11. 11360 VPK364Y Copper with full Gold leather interior, olin MKV1 skis and ramps (not fitted) and aircon, classic car magazine featured as 007 Bond car
  12. Does any one know how many of the original copper Esprit Turbos were ever made?, I thought it was around 20 and made obsolete in 1982
  13. Got to agree on Rudd on that one, these cars have been undervalued for many years and it seems the rare ones have started to hit there mark, I doubt this will be on the market for more than 2 weeks
  14. I am not entirely sure about the Essex stripes, not in my ownership anyway, yes its a dry sump
  15. Tocus I was referring to the FYEO spec car dry dump many had the tobacco interior and not the wet sumps so the information is true, however I do stand corrected on the build qty of the Essex Cars thought over 70 were built with a plan of being 100. see below a section from Lotus archive For the 1980 model year there was 16 other standard Turbo Esprit built before your car, 7 of them were Monaco White, but only 1 of these had full red leather and was the same specification as your car (most of the 1980 cars in white had brown leather). I hope you find this information of interest and you enjoy your Esprit ownership. Regards, Andy Graham Lotus Archives
  16. One more day of detailing and its all done
  17. Guys, I was wondering if you can help, on one of my esprits one of the headlight motors has stopped working we have checked the motor and its ok and also none of the dials work tacho, temp, rev counter etc, everything was fine last week, its weird that everything fails at once
  18. Yes I agree with the comments to paint the sills black, I had them painted white to replicate the S1 as I couldn't find an S1 at the time, I will leave this up to the new owner as its sadly time to sell, I feel sick sending this post as I have spent a lot of time and love into refurbishing this car over the last 6 years especially one with 20k on the clock, wanted to keep as an investment, I've been told to hang on to it as these are starting to rocket up in price and its a bad time to sell, it will be advertised on car and classics in the next few weeks
  19. Photos taken 2 years ago with temporary s3 seats, car is now nearly complete
  20. Agree with Dan there, got to have petrol fumes, if not try dipping your air freshener in petrol that works for me, and for that more authentic look disconnect one of your headlamp motors so only one light stays up, that way you know your driving a proper Esprit, adjusting the mixture on the carbs so it runs like crap also helps, gives the nice backfiring splutter affect, hope this helps
  21. I bought my S2 about 6 years ago did a full body restoration on it took 4 years on and off, at the time I wanted to replicate the spy who loved me car as I couldn't find an S1 so I got it painted Monaco but was originally silver, thinking now to change it back to silver been quoted £1800 as all the prep work has been done but not sure what to do, as its only done 20k miles (still has the original Avon directional tyres) the interior is mint and the steering wheel is original without hardly any wear, so back to silver original tally or keep it white? ill see if I have photos of the restoration and post them
  22. That's why I have you Dan to come around every weekend and polish them up
  23. Prestige wheel centre in Birmingham did a fab job on mine, took a couple of attempts but they got there in the end
