  1. It’s got what looks like a little the inside bit from a terminal block on the cable at the carb end which I think it wrong as Webber’s I’ve mucked about with have a cylinder shaped cable terminator that swivels as the throttle is opened and closed keeping the cable strait. Is this correct for dellortos?
  2. Thanks guys, ill try that as its very difficult to drive but Its going into a specialist for a full look over next weekend as there's a few things that need attention so might be safest to not use it till then.
  3. Ok so I’ve checked the cable and all looks and feels good at both ends the cable clamp at the carb end seems to jump about a bit in the throttle lever. How the hell do you adjust the cable!?
  4. Arent those connected to the turbo plenum i assume to equalise pressure in the carbs?
  5. I’ll check that but there seems to be enough slack at the carbs for it to return not like the cable is stopping it?
  6. Today i started up and idle was around 2k blip the throttle and drops back to where it should be. Found the throttle butterfly on the carbs not quite returning fully to idle position. Cable seems to have a bit of slack so could it just be the spring on the carbs or slightly sticking cable? Drop of oil down the cable?
  7. We need a new thread for the White turbo recommission now
  8. Yep, Thank you Wayne its a superb example of an Esprit Turbo! Coming to meet soon!
  9. Sounds like its more trouble than its worth. I guess easier if the car originally had a/c then someone removed it all. I've seen some aftermarket electric compressor systems for old 911's but they are ££££ anyone heard of similar/generic systems for classics?
  10. Your cars look amazing guys! Thanks for the guidance and info! Its interesting to see that pic of a full scavenge pump not seen a complete pic of one before. Is a/c a must? (prefer non sunroof car)
  11. What are the potential pitfalls of these? I'm look to buy my dream car a G Esprit Turbo and I like the look of the dry sump cars with the comps and black bumpers and they are rarer and come up for sale from time to time, but i don't want something that will cause me more headaches (than normal for a 35+ year old Lotus). Everyone ive spoken to including Lotus specialist garages have said to avoid them at all cost as they are problematic and many of the parts like scavenge pump are pretty much unobtainable. I'm pretty good with maintenance and repair myself and the car wont be used anymore than most i imagine, but i will want it to work well and will drive it as much as i can on weekends ect
  12. Slight thread drift but can anyone tell me the approx weight of the combined components of the a/c system in an esprit? Also is it possible to retrofit an original system to a car without or fit a new design of system or is it just too much trouble/cost to do?
  13. Do we head into mbw when we get there? Parking same location as piston heads Sunday services?
