Hi Paul,
I'm looking at purchasing a 2015 (manufactured in very late 2014) Evora S that is in Canada (I'm in USA). The engine cover and the support rod are not installed it the vehicle and it's a bit of a mystery . The car is a bit of a "unicorn" vehicle....painted in "Pewter Grey" even though that was not a listed color option for the 2014 Evora. I saw you made a comment some time ago that the last number of Evoras that left the factory were not fitted with the cover. Ive not found this anywhere online but it could explain why the cover and support rod are missing. We thought before that a servicing dealer who replaced the clutch may have forgotten to reinstall it. Can you help me with anything that you know?
Thanks so muchDave

Hi Dave,
Apologies, it is a few years now since I sole my Evora so I am having difficulties in visualising the engine compartment.
I would suggest that you put a post on the general Evora forum and I’m sure that someone will respond with the information which you require. The guys on there are quite a friendly and knowledgable bunch.
Hope you and your wife enjoy the car, it will certainly be more comfortable than the Elise, with a bit more luggage room as well by using the 2 rear seats or shelf if it is not a 2+2.

Hi Dave,
I believe that the engine cover was not fitted or supplied by the factory on late production model Evora S. it was I understand a cost saving measure implemented by the then CEO. My car was one of those affected and the above is what I was told when I queried why it was not fitted. I also looked for other recently produced Evora S and they also lacked the engine cover.
As for the support rod, if you mean the engine hatch support rod then, as far as I know, they were always supplied. If the rear clam has been off to enable the clutch replacement then that could explain it but I’m not sure there would have been a need to remove the rod when removing the rear clam.
Evora S is an amazing car, I do miss mine, enjoy if you buy it.

Hi Paul
Just joined the forum today. I have the 2nd of the 3 'Essex' Evora Ses produced. Would be good to find out who has the 3rd one. I had the stripes removed before I bought it by Chris Neils in Cheshire in May '15. Apparently these 3 cars, paint work and stripes courtesy of Scott Walker, were the last rh drive ones produced. After the Elise S mine gives so much more comfort.

posing pics is usually a problem if the file size is too high but I think anything upto around 4mb should be ok.
Cheers

Hi Andy, Jon also had the stripes removed so that's all 3 without them!
Your idle speed sounds about right to me, all S cars increase slightly when in sports mode. Re the Alpine unit, I find it ok. We've covered 5000miles now with 3000+ being in Europe where the SatNav performed faultlessly. For a so called cheap unit it beats the one in our 2013 Range Rover Sport hands down! We had a small problem with the air on in ours during the first week of ownership but that was sorted quickly. We moved from a VX220 which we had owned for almost 14 years. The Evora is an amazing car which ticks all the boxes for us. A great grand tourer which is also at home on track.
Since you've just joined the forum you should place a post in the "Introductions" section on the main forum menu. It's a friendly place with a wealth of information for owners. Would also be good to get all 3 Essex Evoras to the TLF meet at Brooklands in May if you can make it. All details are in a separate thread on the home page
cheers

Hi Andy, so you're the missing owner.
The other one of the 3 is owned by Gothmog (Jon) on here. I bought mine in July last year and the first thing I had the dealer do was to remove the decals. I don't think they did the car any favours but Lotus Silverstone gave me a new set to put away so that I could keep the authenticity of the car when I sell it on.
