Dave,
Hard not to write an essay on that one.
I considered 997's but budget restricted me to a gen 1 with it's engine problems. I also felt the image perceived to some people was one I didn't want to be associated with.
Looked at Aston Vantage but deterred with big running costs.
I'd always wanted an Elise/Exige but having a family meant it was impractical as my only car. I did consider getting one anyway along with a cheap runabout but as my garage already has a 'project' in it I thought it best not to risk the marital bliss.
Then around 18 months ago I saw an Evora at work belonging to a visitor. Internet research with a liberal application of man maths said it made perfect sense so the search began.
I spent the time since then searching like many people seem to. Had all the websites set up as favourites and spent too much time checking them over and over for suitable cars. Missed out on loads of cars but now know that fate had this one lined up for me.
The man maths sort of adds up. I've taken my wife and 2 daughters a round journey of around 14 miles for a test. As my eldest daughter is taller than my wife she got the front seat. Wife and youngest went in the back with knees tucked up and heads tilted over. We probably won't be going any long distances together in it but we have my wifes car for that.
I fully intend getting some proper photos. Hopefully the weather will be good this weekend.
