  1. Ahh, I suspect you mean this one in Fire Red... How confusing. Different colour. Rather nice though. Probably cheaper paint job than mine.
  2. Umm, are you sure it wasn't -0°,48' ? That's what my maths makes it. ( 0.8 * 60 for the seconds ) Yes it is pretty neutral, especially compared to some of the track (anti-understeer) settings people are running.
  3. Can't have that can we? Interestingly, I realised that the MX-5 I traded in (a Sport Graphite in Zeal Red) was pretty much an exact match for the Canyon Red. I parked it up next to the S1 Evora that Stratton had at the time. Nice, sophisticated colour. The Flame is going to be a bit more lairy
  4. I think my colour query went via exactly the right people, at the right time, to get a favourable response. Our "big car" is a Honda CRV with full ADAS pack, so adaptive cruise plus LKAS. It basically drives itself, while you keep an eye on it. But I still found basic cruise was useful on my MX-5. As you say, Arun, for when the roads are quiet but long.
  5. Don't listen to him, I'm already thinking about how to hold a water bottle and haven't even got the car yet
  6. Exactly! Why they decided to translate it to Flame Red, I don't know. But then they translated Jaune Sirius into Liquid Yellow, so go figure. Maybe Dog Star Yellow didn't have the ring they wanted.
  7. I guess I just asked nicely enough Also, I think Malcolm likes a challenge but only every now and then. We'll see if he's grumpy with me next week. Even the paint company told them not to do it
  8. There are some informative pictures on the lotustalk thread called "Wing Mirror design of the Exige and Elise". See Google for details. I'm definitely toying with the idea of the V2. Looks sturdy yet sleek.
  9. Cruise (Astra stalk + ECU enable) is listed on the Elise price list I think, somewhere around £100 IIRC It took me a fair few weeks to research the red, RenaultSport had a "Rouge de Feu" which got translated to "Flame Red" and has one code. The red I've gone for, at great expense, is the new main Renault three coat red "Rouge Flamme" which is also translated to "Flame Red" in the UK, but it different and has a totally different code. I do now know how to spray both this and the Mazda Soul Red, which is also a three coat red and was my second choice. Three coat reds are colour metallic base, then colour tinted clear (a.k.a. Candy), then clearcoat. I believe Liquid Yellow is also a three coat colour and they have done a number of those before now, including @ChrisBuer's lovely one.
  10. Dude, that's spooky! I just got an email from Lotus saying my car has gone to paint and has a VIN. We'll be going to visit the factory on Tuesday, so hopefully will see it in some state of assembly. The colour should be epic. Renault Rouge Flamme Metallic. Spec is fairly tooled up. Sport 350 Coupé, aircon, radio, Alcantara, forged wheels, body colour hard top, incl soft top, cruise. No rear speakers (they have now been deleted from standard spec, fair enough, kinda useless) So exciting!!
  11. Awesome car Ryan! Your epic wait puts my 'short pause' in the shade. I like the red highlights.
  12. @Chrisc when you get them, I'll be really interested if they end up being wider/same/narrower from mirror tip to mirror tip than the OEM setup
  13. Well, I'm assuming Chris has got some Transforged Racing stems on the way, with or without the Motowerks JP mirrors. At least, that's what the pictures are of. The pics are V1, which is discontinued now, and there is a V2 which is bifurcated like the stock mount, only more pretty, and ball-ended to take the mirror. Both V1 and V2 do look the biz
  14. Fingers crossed they look good. Best pic I could find is this: Stalk seems to be a "CF" hydrographic dip. BTW, anyone else notice the bashed off canard? You know once you were done gawping at the girl
  15. Worth looking at those Shorai batteries and the maintenance charger. See YellowPeril's post above. The ability to balance the cells and reduce the charge to a storage level is significant and the pricing seems very competitive.
  16. Cheers, yes it'll be Rouge Flamme. Very popular on mass produced Euroboxes, but should look quite remarkable on a low slung, curvy machine like the Exige. My old Xbox gamertag? Bizarrely yes. Good news from Simon today was he was expecting the car to be built this month, which would be very nice!
  17. Does sound like solenoid valve is not working for whatever reason. Incidentally, am I imagining reading that the EPV is open at idle?
  18. When you replaced the hose, which part did you replace? There are quite a few bits of hose in the system
  19. Hi All I always seem to wade into forums without introducing myself, so here goes, if a little late. My name's Martyn and just over two weeks ago I ordered my first Lotus. A Sport 350 coupé in a custom, one off red. I considered buying used, but really hankered after making something unique. My wife and I built our Caterham R300, so are very used to setting our own spec. Now I've got the two month or so wait stretching out in front of me, but it's nice having something so epic to look forward to.
  20. Dave (or Kevlar), do we know which 2-parts Lotus are fitting to the 360 Cup? Alcon, AP, other?
  21. I stand corrected. Makes perfect sense. I suspect the bobbin change fix was actually to slightly larger bobbins, because as you the bell would be softer than the bobbins.
  22. Floating rotor noises are only an issue when the bobbins are loose. You'd expect brand new ones to be reasonably tight, but at they wear they can start to rattle and/or chime. Not a massive deal, and you can generally replace the bobbins when they wear if it gets too annoying. Jonny, you're pretty much bang on, you'd probably only hear these noises when pootling around town. I've never had them BTW, this all just stuff I've picked up from folks that do. YMMV
  23. Those Shorai units look very interesting. They even have a battery management system port, which I assume is the cell taps for balancing. Might get one for the Caterham at the very least.
  24. Livigno, Lombardy or Llivigno, North Wales maybe? I bet you're still having a lovely time though, despite the weather.
