  1. Anyone heading to SpeedFest can meet at Stracathro Services at 8:00am for a run over Cairn o' Mount.
  2. We have a number of entries for this year's SpeedFest including Gordon Masson & Carlene, Archie Buchanan, Jim Selkirk, Ian Corse and me. So that's 2 x Esprit's, 2 x GTE's, 1 x Elise and 1 x Exige Roadster. Entries for the event closed a few weeks ago but everyone is welcome as a spectator. There are a number of food outlets on the site or you may want to meet up somewhere on route before arriving at SpeedFest. One suggestion is the regular V8 Breakfast meeting at The Fennel Restaurant in Inverurie which is about 25 minutes from GTM @ Alford. Breakfast is available from 10:00am until midday. Hope to see some of you at SpeedFest. Brian
  3. A big thank you to David for coming round after work today with his ODB reader. Quickly found the error code P0101 Mass Airflow Meter. So opened the boot took off the engine cover and low and behold the rubber hose from the air filter had come loose. I felt so embarrassed that it was as simple as that and wondered why I hadn't looked into the engine bay already. I washed the car today, took off the wheels and washed them too and I was going to check the oil but got side tracked. If I had checked the oil level I would have spotted the loose hose.
  4. Yes, Oakmere did fit the kit themselves.
  5. Just ordered one, thanks. It was in the car when I bought it. It's the one that raises the power by 80BHP.
  6. During a spirited drive home yesterday with sport mode selected it felt as if there was a miss fire and I lost a bit of power. Sport mode switched off by itself and the DPM light came on and I couldn't get more than 3,000 revs in 1st gear and 3,500 revs in 2nd gear before the red donuts in the tacho started lighting up and all flashed about 4,000 to 4,500 revs. I couldn't select Sport mode and pressing the DPM button would not clear the tell tale light. The other thing was I couldn't select cruise control. I got the car home obviously in limp mode and switched the engine off allowed it to cool and tried to start it again. The engine fires up to 1,500 revs then dies. The DPM light is now out, Sport mode can be selected but the MIL tell tale is lit. Tried switching ignition on then off again a number of times and on a couple of occasions the MIL light flashes. My car has the Komotec upgrade. No idea what the fault codes are as I don't have the kit to read them. Need to get it over to Craig's to get it checked out Any ideas on what it could be and is there a way to clear the fault, otherwise I need to get the AA to pick it up and get it to Edinburgh.

  14. 1. Alan & Gwen - breakfast & tour 2. David & Jennifer - breakfast & tour 3. David & Sharron - breakfast & tour 4. Andrew & Alister - (breakfast & tour - Andrew please confirm)
  15. Thanks for arranging this one Alan, unfortunately I am still away at the beginning of April so won't be able to attend. I really fancy the tour so may do that later in the year.
  16. My rear tyres shredded on the inside edge within 4,000 miles and I was told that the rear camber and toe out is set up on the GTE's very aggressively to improve the handling. If that is the case then the tread pattern can't be square to the direction of travel and would that not reduce the effectiveness of the tread in shedding the water in heavy rain. I may well be talking tosh and happy to be corrected!

  20. Spotted today an Evora GP Edition sitting at a petrol station in Bivio, on the Julierpass, Switzerland on GR (Graubünden) plates. A Swiss LHD car. I was in a line of traffic heading in the opposite direction or would have stopped to say hello. Beautiful day to drive these roads without snow, what a pity it was so busy.
  21. Posted on behalf of John & Wendy Walsh at Club Lotus NE Scotland We have started taking bookings for our annual Scottish Transport Extravaganza at Glamis Castle for 2017 on 8th-9th July. Last Year we had 26 exhibits on the Saturday with a changeover of some cars and 27 on the Sunday. It's a great weekend with over 2,000 exhibits in all, from push bikes to heavy trucks. We usually get a great deal from the Premier Lodge in Dundee for the Saturday night where we have a get together and a meal with one or two small libation's. Entry is only £4.00 per car plus postage and this gives admission for two people and your car for the two day's, no discount for only the one day. A bargain. Anyone interested in taking part in our Lotus stand please get in touch, even if it's just for the one day. We have had it confirmed that we will, for the second year running have a Lotus demonstrator on show courtesy of Murray Motor's Edinburgh. We want to make 2017 our biggest stand yet, so get in there. Deadline for booking's are 1st of April, and the organiser's are very strict. See there website for info, but book via us for the club stand Email John & Wendy at Clublotusnescotland@gmail.com fro register your interest.
