  1. I think both a difficult in the summer due to being busy with the race meetings, things get easier closer to the end of the year. Opentrack and Goldtrack have Silverstone dates in November - I'll really take an effort to make it to one of the two. Last year Opentrack day in Silverstone was just excellent. Brands Hatch I'd strongly advise to go to with extensive tuition - for me it was really tricky, I strongly felt like some guidance word be very helpful to make any sense of it (more so than in the other places).
  2. I bought 215/45/17 and 265/35/18 for standard Sport 350 wheels. Going with 285/30/18 rears would only make it ~£15 more expensive, still at around £650 for a set delivered
  3. With PSC2 being <£650 for a full set easily available I really have no idea why would anyone use anything else
  4. I do think it is fair if you are comparing two as cars and not just driving pleasure devices. I personally think the push should be made to be incomparable with focus on 1) raw and pure driving experience, 2) hand built for you personally, and 3) it is hugely cost-effective to run, so you can use it as much as you please. Trying to play on the overall car comparison basis does not really make sense and can only result in a loss.
  5. Turned out to be a great day - beautiful weather, reasonably strict management, overall good pace (even if a tiny little bit busy with 12 cars out at the same time) in semi-open pit lane. Thoroughly enjoyed the day and it was great to meet few fellow Lotus owners (all Elise's - I am super jealous for the guys to be able to go through the whole day one one tank of fuel!). Out of curiosity noise tested in race mode - showed 96dB at 4,500, which is still fine for Castle Combe.
  6. Exactly, 100dB at 4,500 - not a problem for Sport 350.
  7. Castle Combe this coming Saturday
  8. Anyone going? I've just booked. 100dB at 4,500rpm https://castlecombecircuit.co.uk/car-track-days/ccrc-charity-track-day/9/6/2018/
  9. Did you have a chance to process the video? Would love to see what's possible.
  10. It is totally fine. I insist on using Motul 300V supplied by me and neither of the two dealers I've serviced my Sport 350 with had a problem with it.
  11. I think fanboys here are overly keen to see what they want to see. To me Wilbert is primarily not happy about no possibility to get the parts and he's stated clearly that most likely the warranty will not be enforceable due to installation of LSD. Perhaps he's also referring to the fact that increase in prices could go hand in hand with increase in service, including parts availability? It is pathetic to read all of this Lotus "defence" against customers who actually buy and use this cars (which are indeed special and nice). You'd rather help your idol by pushing towards becoming better (e.g. parts available, windows not leaking, headlights functioning, doors opening). On what basis do you say he's broken the gearbox? Could it just happen to be a not good enough parts in it?
  12. Mine was tested with touring mode at 4,500 at 90dB static in Castle Combe yesterday.
  13. Fantastic day in Castle Combe today - glorious weather, nice people around and lots of track time. Thank you @Jamie-BellandColvill and all the team for making it such a great day!
  14. They do, on mine absolute majority of the black rubber marks after the trackdays is right there (so small stones should be flying in the same direction). No damage to the paint though as there is a film cover in those areas.
  15. This looks very tempting - the weather looks good, it is 15min drive for me and I am going to be around tomorrow. Checking if they are going to be able to fit me in.
  16. Occurs to me every time I drive it at night and it has nothing to do with driving fast at night - I have zero intention to drive with any speed when I can't see a thing. Just to poke a wasps nest little bit - every time I am driven by my wife in her Macan with PDLS Plus it truly shocks me how much more the car's headlights can help. Never see anyone flashing her thinking she's on the hjigh beam (they even have an automated system to automatically control the high beam/low beam, should you like to use it) Absolutely yes, they just need to sort out the headlights in the same physical analog manner as they've finally managed to sort out the seat runners ☺️ I fully agree it is borderline dangerous and it is indeed the case that I am sometimes flashed from behind as I do occasionally unintentionally just drive with DRLs and not headlights - they are in many cases brighter 😨 No, I do not want it to be 17C when the knob is at 17C, I just want the temperature to be stable if the knob is not moving through the virtue of automatic control of the temperature of the air supplied and ventilator speed as to get closer to the target temperature (whatever it is and however it matches the number on the knob). I have no idea how this is contradicting benefits of performance and lightness , what does it have to do with PASM, and why having automatically adjustable climate control is going to harm your excitement about Lotus. In the same way we can start talking about disgrace of using ECU and vote for the good old days of carburettors? Just in case, A/C is already electronic stuff as it is connected to the ECU 🙄 Please do not take this as an offence, but the combination of the two statements is to me one of the finest examples of hypocrisy I've happily and with no regrets done >10,000mi in the first ~8 months (including not many enough trackdays, going to Waitrose, going to the airport on the motorway, trip to Wales, etc.) - it does matter a bit to have some basics right. Decent headlights and the most basic climate control are those basics. As well as seat runners and at least slightly watertight windows. In my car they successfully addressed the former, but not the latter. Can't agree more - it really depends if one uses it as a car or as a fetish. I prefer to use it as a car, but there is certainly no problem with either of the choices, just different requirements associated with those 😊 Absolutely totally fact. Even more so I understand that they've got dozens of questions on this matter over the last year and still there is no interest to do anything helpful. Good part of the decision to go for Sport 350 for me was to be able to actually drive it - happy with the choice Phew, a lot of typing. Hopefully not offensive to anyone, just genuine findings and opinions. 🙊
  17. What does this have to do with Exige V6 headlights? 🤔 Amount of light and shape of light patch produced by Exige headlights is hideous and completely not acceptable for a modern car. Having automatic A/C (all the same as it is now, but with cheap and simple temperature sensor to allow to select the temperature and not surreal colder/warmer) would also be really nice and make it well more useable. Final touch of making it at least a bit watertight (I mean just not getting water inside the cabin when it rains mildly) would be most welcome as well.
  18. Just yesterday I've changed the original Pirellis to PSC2 in 265/35/18R and 215/45/17F - so 10mm wider in front. No issues whatsoever and it does feel good so far. Also was really surprised by how adequately proced those are - can't see any reason to buy anything else.
  19. This is brilliant and exactly what is really helpful, thank you! 👍
  20. None I have seen states clearly the noise level (ranges) at 4,500rpm, 5,250rpm and driveby at full throttle close to the redline. All prefer to rely on the real estate agents language of "magnificent roar" and "enabling you to participate in virtually any trackday in the UK". The closest one where something close to a "scientific" characteristic is stated is @Hangar 111 solution. It would be fantastic to see the actual numbers - also should not be that difficult at all. 🙄
  21. I bet on April - http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/Upcoming-Events
  22. You can still stall on the track due to g-forces moving the fuel - I'd not fill comfortable with less than two bars. For normal driving not a problem at all.
  23. This is not exactly the case - fuel tank holds 43.5l according to Lotus service manual and it matches with my observations having filled >40l a good number of times so far.
  24. There was a few that were unpainted and with no plague, which made people quite upset at a time (summer 2017). Mine was with painted supercharger and the plague though, collected in September 2017.
