  1. Of course, - Beauty is in the eye......... and all that! However no matter what I decide I wont be butchering anything, and anything I do will be reversible. e.g. If I change the wheels will be keeping the originals etc
  2. Just idle curiosity. Cannot afford a genuine S1 but love its look. I have a set of S1 Wolfrace wheels so was considering making a S1clone from my S2.(Don't wince!)
  3. Hi Henry thanks. That's what I thought. But I don't really want to start butchering the bodywork!
  4. Does anyone know if the Fiat x-19 lights from a S1 and the Rover Sd1 lights from a S2 can be interchanged? Thanks
  5. Can anyone tell me what the wheel code on the Wolfrace wheels for the S1 mean? I have contacted Wolfrace direct but they don't seem to know! The fronts are 6J x FHA-HE. After that there is a blank square. I have been offered another wheel with very similar numbers. However, I have been told that instead of the blank square there is a figure. Sometimes "30" and and another "22" . Will these fit? What do these extra figures mean? Also there is 2 small circles. 1 with "76" in and the other a letter "H". Is this the year of manufacture perhaps? Any help would be appreciated.
  6. Are the Fiat X-19 rear lights and the Rover SD1 lights interchangeable? . Also do you know if the front and rear bumpers off and S1 and S2 are interchangeable? Cheers.
  7. Thanks. Yes that's what I have decided to do. The federal bumpers are horrendous! I'm also going to fit UK springs so its sits at the correct (UK) height.
  8. There's a set on ebay at the moment with a bid of £1000.00 with 2 days to go. The spare is also for sale with a bid of £200.00.
  9. Many thanks for the valuable info. Its nice to know what's going on under the hood!
  10. I'm from Blackpool so of course I have knobbly knees. Not too knobbly though I've never won a contest.
  11. Everybody has been really helpful so thanks to all. Ive just updated to full member. After a fairly long conversation with PNM, I have decided to heed everybodys advice and shelve the LHD to RHD conversion for the forseable future. No point in joining and asking for advice if you don't take it! Seeing as some of you asked, I've included a couple of photos. The first of my pride and joy Eclat for the last 25 years and my new Esprit S2 which is on its way from from the States as I write. P.S. My Eclat sometimes lived up to its number plate ----- but its all right now!
  12. Good question! They seem to be as loved as much as a Bond villain.
  13. Ahh so that's it. Many thanks for the info.
  14. I'm going to have to eat humble pie on this one! I have been visiting the site quite often these last few days and there were a few ads for cars that when I clicked on them it said they were no longer available. Of course I cannot find them now and can't remember where they were or which section I was reading from them. -- so I can only apologise. If I come across them again I will let you know. Until them I'll keep my mouth (fingers) shut.
  15. As a new member and avid reader of the forums, I have to agree. I have already come across lots of ads that seem out of date. Of course with such a large site as this one it must be time consuming to go through old ads and delete them. And who am I anyway to criticise?? Bl***y newby!
  16. Hi All, My S2 is on its way from the good old USA. Cant wait to get going on it! It obviously has the same 907 engine as my Eclat except for the whoppin' great pulley on the one of the cam covers. I have seen other federal Esprits with same set up. Can someone enlighten me what it is for? Cheers. lez
  17. Hi Andy thanks for the confirmation. So how did they achieve it? Different springs?
  18. With a couple of (albeit immaculate S1's) on ebay at the moment priced at £55000.00 and £100000.00. everybody else thinks they are sitting on a goldmine and want silly money. Many thanks. I'm sure I will.
  19. Hi Ive been told that the federal Esprits ride higher than Esprits in the UK. Is this correct and if so why?
  20. Great Ill check it out. Of course I meant an Esprit newby!!
  21. Thanks for the thoughts. I'm already divorced!! and although that wouldn't make a great blog, if I DO the conversion I will let you know! I will check out the transverse bar. I hadn't been able to find a RHD t a reasonably price. Even with the cost of shipping it over its still cheaper than purchasing one over here (UK). Yes no probs. When I take delivery of the Esprit I will post some photos of both of them together.
  22. Thank you. It might!! I'll see if anybodies done it with an Esprit before I decide.
  23. Thanks for the welcome. Yes I hadn't thought about trips to Europe! Perhaps a rethink is in order.
