  1. That's all very well, but have they started galvanising their chassis yet?  I recall (on this forum) someone was told to get rid of their nearly three year old MG as it was starting to ROT and would not be passing its MOT when it is due...

So, good to be super cheaper for the consumer but bad for any viable and sustainable product to alleviate climate change; this manufacturer, I don't think, wants to make a difference, just sell cheap cars to be disposed of and replaced every few years 😞

  2. If you walk up to the car, it unlocks, you use it, get out, walk away, I wasn't aware of any car deciding to lock it for you without either the key fob being pressed, or the door handle sensor being swiped to lock it - or wherever the sensor is on the Electre (I seem to think I read somewhere its on the pillar between front and rear doors???).  This is certainly how the keyless cars I've had have worked

  3. Instead of giving the properties driveways and space back from the road they've filled in the middle with a parking lot, and then, put two coach houses in there as well that look straight in to the property behind them (assuming it has back windows but wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't!)

    Utter madness!

It's Sim City for sure @C8RKH

  4. Yes, I think it is overlooked that they are privately run and in my area at least these businesses are expanding - in to 'health trusts' that operate basically all the local GP practices which now use the same bad processes and closed loops.  The website for my GP is quite literally a round-robin of hyperlinks.  It is single handily the most infuriating site to navigate in order to try and get some help.

The service is simply not patient focused at all but of course we must smile and play the game or the receptionist does not give us an appointment, ever.

  5. I agree with the all the above - he goes in to the corner with no intention of making it properly, but rather enough to force the other driver in to not making either and as long as he does that on the inside he see's that as job done.

To be honest, I was kinda surprised GR took the responsibility for their clash at Vegas, I thought it was a late lunge and he turned in on his line only to find Max there.

  6. I'm not sure about recycling the battery - I know repurposing batteries is taking off - in particular they are being used in buildings to provide energy storage from solar panels but I'd understood from what I've read that dismantling the batteries to recycle the components them is not common at all - I am however happy to be corrected, which countries are you thinking of?

  7. In my Lexus the pre-collision detection sensitivity can be adjusted through low, medium and high.  I run it on low since the other two settings would often make it think I was going to hit parked cars - think narrow road with parked vehicles either side and a bend, where of course you are going to steer around the corner when you get to it, but instead the system panics - and makes me panic at the alarm severity!

  8. There's plenty of debate on this subject over in "Is electric really the answer" - which is well worth a read and contributing your thoughts and opinions there; everyone's got an opinion and I might have some there myself!  For me; in the automotive sector, I think it's getting out of the replace-every-two/three-years mentality.  Building EVs  (and all the manufacturing pollution from them) and not keeping them and running them for long enough is not going to save the planet, regardless of the 'friendly' end product.  We are kidding ourselves if we think we can just switch to buying new EVs every few years and save the planet instead of ICE vehicles every few years.  On that basis buying used (ICE or EV) is a far better proposition for making a difference.  There are youtubers discussing this also (see JayEmm) and even the great Rowan Atkinson has had something to say on the matter.

In the meantime, my bet is the OP has been nailing the throttle in his super-fast-Lotus, pressing lots of buttons, heating all the seats and driving in a headwind in the dark! 😉

  9. I thought it was a typo - for a HUD surely 5.5 ? But lets see!

Have to say, I think the interior looks great, and based on sitting in an Eletre, the 'premiumness' and quality is and will be superb!

For me, it makes the Eletre a waste of time, but then I'm don't get the appeal driving bricks, sorry SUV's!
