A really surprisingly good show. It's not often SciFi comes with a good script and great acting.

Talk about Marmite! For me 'Leave the World Behind' was a master piece. A slow burn for sure, but I liked the fact that no one character was either black or white (so to speak!). It was like a much better version of Shyamalan's 'The Happening'. The terror was inferred, not in your face. The hope and fear was not in-your-face. Many people complain about the ending, but I thought it was perfectly set. Too often we seem to expect absolute closure in films, the ambiguity in this instance I loved. The animals were both an allegory and judgement on us as human animals. Most of all I liked the fact that it undermined our implicit belief that our own western civilization/culture is constant, immutable and unassailable. We should not take for granted our democratic way of managing ourselves. Other autocratic countries could, especially if they grouped together, completely wipe us out. This film very well demonstrated that possibility. Horses for courses @Kimbers!

'Slow Horses' is by far and away the best series out at the moment. For sure Gary Oldman shines in this, but the supporting cast is equally high quality. The scripting is magnificent, the pace perfect, the comedy well timed and not overpowering. All in all a perfect blend and a really good watch. Can't recommend it highly enough.
