Well maybe not that new an owner, I've had the car since March this year, but due to other circumstances I've only managed to complete just shy of 300 miles in it this year. I know 😲
The picture flatters it somewhat, the car requires quite a lot of work, but it is a runner and my plan is to treat it as a rolling restoration. Based on the little work I've done on it so far it hasn't been put back together by previous owners/garages all that well; lots of things aren't as they're supposed to be but I'll get it all sorted in the fullness of time.
I've wanted an S4s for a long time but wasn't actively looking for one when a friend pointed this particular car out to me and at the price it was being offered I couldn't refuse it after a look around it. I quite enjoy the challenge of bringing a car back to tip-top condition, having done it with several of the other cars in my fleet.
Current tasks on the to-do list which I'll no doubt have questions about in due course include:
Complete brake overhaul - caliper rebuilds, new discs pads and braided hoses all round
Cooling system flush and refill and work out why the ECU isn't turning the fans on
Wheel refurb and new tyres
Possible fuel tank replacement - the pipe over the rear window was in a right state which I've replaced so I'm hoping that will cure the fuel smell and spare the fuel tanks... for now!
