  1. I drool over these things constantly, but they're impossible to find under 50K in the U.S., I'm literally planning a holiday with the intent to get my grubby hands on one, because I MUST! (I sound a bit like a cocaine addict or something there) 😛
  2. Oh that's awesome, welcome my young friend to the moment of peace that can only been found mid apex on the track! I have daughter's they wouldn't be so interested in that experience, you're blessed! I'm curious to see the report, as a prospective buyer or eventual buyer, you can color that statement however you'd like
  3. Super curious about this! I do hope you do a trip report when done!
  4. This is a beautiful story, having daughters on or about that age, I could picture them. I would say this is a good place to be, Congratulations Dad!
  5. I also apologize for reposting the original, it was never my intent to self promote here, I've just become a bit of a Lotus Fan Boy, I'm having a mixed bag of emotions from that being stolen, I don't know if I should be flattered, offended, or just confused as to why someone would. Either way, this was a wonderful experience in this car (I'm going to keep it about the car, rather than the dramatics of the moment); and honestly, I don't believe there is a better "Driver's Car" personally at this point, and it's definitely flavored my perspective for all other cars I test, any car I've driven since, I've had to cut out the Lotus references, I so appreciate anyone that takes their time to watch our little channel, it's a wonderful hobby. I had applied for Lotus US in the past, but no joy, but who wouldn't want to work for them?
  6. I'm so very grateful that we are watched, it's a wonderful hobby, and I'm grateful. But believe it or not, thats not my channel, someone stole my video! I'm having some very mixed emotions here This is the original If you folks wouldn't mind reporting that video stolen from me, I would be quite grateful, I'd love to work for Lotus by the way, love to!
  7. I'm confused, it appears to me to be a pretty straight forward job, clam shell removal I imagine would make it a challenge (for me), it also appears to be a standard bracket, and I wonder how hard it would be to manufacture one or seal that area. It's curious to me that there would be that much play given the cars origin climate to allow that much water. Was the soft steal used for weight savings?
  8. I personally think manual is king for ANYONE that wants a proper driving experience, having spent much time abroad (I lived in, and about for about three years, for work) I recognize the market is significantly different, even the enthusiast market is different; where driving is the priority and that experience (though not faster, unless expertly mastered, even then I think the data guys would argue paddles depending on their build are simply faster) of connection brought through a manual is irreplaceable. Speaking generationally, and speaking to the U.S. 'Canyon Rats' or 'Track Rats' still exist, and we are seeing the focus on the Driver from the younger generation as it becomes more accessible. But often the enthusiast market is filled with less driving, more posturing at Cars and Coffee, in that I would agree. The United States is huge, almost like mini Nation States, that provide a wide variety of terrain, manufacturers (Especially Euro) often see our market as a straight line, never ending highway HP focused buyer. But if I could sit them down in my passenger seat any given weekend, I think they'd find themselves amidst a group of "Driving Enthusiasts" of all ages, and would be pretty surprised. The problem we have here, is that Dealerships and manufacturers, don't allow for more extended test drives, and in the case of Lotus, Most wouldn't understand it's true capability unless behind the wheel. I offer if you put any one of these 95k buying Mustang GT guys in my passenger seat and let them really understand Lotus (and a slew of other brands) would take them to a level of performance they could never touch, and safely, they'd be shelling out their wallets as their expenses are usually self focused. Let them drive around the block? Then they'll focus on showroom aesthetics, I suppose to sum up, I think the NEED for the manual is relevant, and I hope Lotus doesn't change that standard, the 'add lightness' created for the experience and become the Renaissance of experience they should be. I know I myself prefer the manual, and honestly I haven't driven one better than the Lotus (that's not to say one doesn't exist, it's just to say I haven't driven a better one). Here's to hoping they remain that standard. I'm prone to rambling, and opinions, my apologies! (new guy, so I should have two eyes, two ears, versus my one mouth as a guest)
  9. Who could blame them if they did 😛 , those little fords sure seem to be popular Euro Cars, I wonder if it's the price? Or if it's because the car culture in that environment allows for a solid base to mod from. I see a few in my area, but not nearly the following I've seen in Europe for the Focus
  10. This may be the moment in my life where I knew that I took a terribly wrong turn!!!! Brilliant turn out!😍
  11. Indeed, Alfa as a customer feels like a disaster, the 4C was supposed to harken the return to it's thoroughbred heritage leading to a new 8C (Which will end up the MC20 under Maserati). The 4C is a blast, an absolute Gas to drive, but it was like somewhere the engineers were switched or sacked and they went "Meh, good enough". They inspire passion through their imperfections, with that being said, it's not a Lotus, but what is really? I'm a one plaything kind of guy, so I need to be cautious about my toy purchases 😛
  12. This seems like the EXACT same thing we experience here, and it's terrible for not only the Brand image, but hurts the future sales of a legacy that had just returned to the United States, it is rather frustrating, I had hoped your experience in the UK would be better, especially since your market seems to have a more healthy Driver's community. It's unfortunate, it really is.
  13. If only they hired Yankee men! They do have something big in store, this should get interesting,
  14. It made me extremely unhappy that my Local Dealer wanted 3k USD for bolt tightening, and that a friend was able to do it for me for around 600, it annoys me how obtuse Alfa Romeo's Service is in the United States, mind you I understand it's not a prestige brand, but I get friendlier more accommodating service with my pick up truck. Annoyed is probably a better word, than unhappy.
  15. This, your man here states it perfectly
  16. How could this possibly seem trivial? We are literally talking about weapon built to create a complete connection to the driver and the moment, I think this is exactly what will in the future make this brand what it should have been rather than the niche of a niche it's become. (Sorry babbling again), I adore this, having said that i'm highly effusive 😛 Don't make me bribe you with Pints! On with it!
  17. So is this how they're presenting an order of Provenance from the Factory? If it is, what a great way to feel part of the lineage! What an amazing touch that would be if so (I'm becoming a bit of a fanboy, please excuse me being giddy).
  18. Okay that's hilarious! Asking for a friend right?
  19. Thank you for the kind welcome, the new Evora was a divine experience in driving, while I haven't driven the rest of the line, I believed the evora to be an absolute weapon, that couldn't be appreciated truly without being behind the wheel
  20. I'm quite sure many wouldn't appreciate that, but I definitely do, that's artwork a beautiful display in my opinion. God I hope it's something like this, in manual transmission.
  21. I concur, they've made the Brand, a niche of a niche, rather than the standard I currently believe it is. We tried to capture that by putting non believers behind the wheel. But they didn't make it easy to get a car either (in comparison to other manufacturers I've worked with), I think honestly there is more potential to be had there I think it's talent just need to be captured on real roads, or even better on the track where it's obviously I would believe at home in it's truest form, but I think they've probably already heard that from their fan base and I don't think me saying it would be beneficial, or even fall on ears that would listen in the US market. If the GT comes down in price I'd definitely be all in, hunting is definitely part of the adventure! Thanks a ton, and thanks for having me
  22. Lotus is a fascinating company I'm curious to see how things evolve with Geely (I never in my life imagined I'd be following car manufacturer lifelines) Lotus doesn't seem to be an organization that is quick to implementation, which surprises me some given that there is a demand for exactly the Thoroughbred Driver they create, really I think if they had more "bums in seats" they would have more converts I believe. That car will make anyone feel like a hero. Caught!!!! I am indeed, I'm Jason I didn't realize that anyone here had watched those videos the Channel is pretty small, I'm grateful you took the time to give me a look see. I didn't come to hock my wares, to put anyone's fears at ease, Though I didn't realize my logo came up automatically by logging in through Google. I've hunted for an exige here in California for some time, that's like hunting for a pot of Gold to be honest, tough find, Lotus has made more than a lasting impression on me, I'm nobody special but I do love the driving experience, and it's becoming very much a bit of a fever for me (The most amazing thing I've Driven, and truth be told, I suspect it's an absolute weapon on the track) Ouch! 18 months! Thats tough! I'm curious as a former Vette guy what the C8 holds, I'm less interested in prestige than I am Driving, sexy is cool, but there's emotion in driving, and I'm not sure the C8 will be able to conjure that, though we'll see, I'm quite blessed for the opportunity to try one.
  23. McLaren I believe knocked it out of the Park with styling (I haven't driven one), I was wondering if Lotus would follow suit or if they intended to recreate the Exige, or rebrand using the Elan. I hope it's a proper manual transmission
