  1. Hi everyone, I'm so excited to announce that I finally put a deposit down on a brand new orange 350 sport today. I am unbelievably excited and I can't wait to get back into the fold after owning an S2 Exige for 5 years (bought new in 2010 and sold in 2015) 😁 I've previously spoken on another thread about upgrading to a 380/410 exhaust system but I wanted to see what other options were available and peoples opinion/experiences of them. I understand I will have warranty issues if I change any cats (or even if I just go down the 2bular back box route) but I change the exhaust on every performance car I buy so it has to be done. I like a loud car, particularly with added drama like pops and bangs etc. All options come with a valve to make it quiet when desired which is great. So the current options are: 1) put a full 380/410 system on the car including the downpipe. This would involve buying a used 380/410 backbox if possible (to keep the costs down) and buy the downpipes from lotus. Positive from this is that it may retain the warranty as all parts are from lotus. 2) 2bular Road (the loud one) back box. Quite a popular option with others and not too expensive. Would this void the warranty? After speaking to someone from servicing at Oakmere they believe it would. 3) standard 350 back box and 2bular engine protection kit (with singular sports cat). Im very intrigued by this one because I like the standard rear trapezoid tip over the twin tip from 2bular. Anyone has this system? I suppose you could go further and have a decent exhaust place to alter the tubing in the 350 back box to make it a straight pipe. I understand warranty would be void with this 4) 2bular Road back box and engine protection kit (with singular sports cat) i believe this would be the Daddy of all choices in terms of volume and character but obviously very costly. Is it worth the price? And again I understand warranty would be void woth this. Any experience and ideas on the above options would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance John
  2. Thanks for your reply. Good luck with your search for a titanium back box 🙂 i think Kimutaku mentioned manifolds because he previously had de cat larini manifolds installed and needed factory ones to install the full 380 system. Like you said I think the 380 downpipes fit directly to the 350 manifolds 🙂
  3. Thank you for your reply. Sounds like a great idea to wait for a used system to come up. Much more cost effective 🙂 as you mentioned in your previous post its crazy to think a factory 380 exhaust with cats can be as loud as your de catted Larini 😱 i could imagine a 380 back box with 2bular engine protection kit would be absolutely mental Just seen this after replying to KIMUTAKU above. I would be interested to know what you would want for it if you could PM me please? I'm new to the site so I'm not sure how to PM you sorry 🙈 I understand that the other person has first dibs though which is totally fair 🙂
  4. Thanks for your reply. Do keep me posted if you find a titanium exhaust any time soon 🙂 Quick questions about your exhaust set up please. Im assuming your car is a 350 sport? Is your car now as loud as a 380? Does it pop and bang like one and have that sort of gargly sound? I know these may sound like daft questions but I've read for example the 410/430 Exiges have the same exhaust as the 380 but they have a slightly different ECU tune and do not to pop and bang much (something to do with EU sound regulations I believe). Thanks
  5. Has anyone heard a 2bular engine protection kit (with singular sports cat) fitted with the standard 350 backbox? Is it any good or is the 350 backbox too restrictive? I understand this goes against my warranty comment above but just in case I buy a used car with no warranty. Thanks
  6. Thank you. Yes I suppose so but the 2bular road back box would cost me about £1600 and I prefer the trapezoid tip if I had to choose 🙂 also its a brand new car im look at so I feel the 380 system would keep the warranty intact 🤞 Ahh yes the part number changed and the new part for the back box is £1747? I would like to find a used silencer but I know they are desirable so im assuming I will have to get a new one.
  7. Thank you. According to deroure the 380 back box is £1664 so about £2200 in total for the full system excluding fitting?
  8. Good idea. So an engine protection kit from 2bular with singular sports cat (for MOT) and a 380 back box? Have you heard this setup before
  9. Thank you for your replies. Can anyone confirm how much a 380 downpipe and 380 backbox would cost from Lotus please?
  10. Hi. I am hoping to buy a sport 350 soon and I'm hoping to upgrade to a 380/410 exhaust. Does anyone know how much the full system costs from Lotus? Does it sound exactly like the 380 with pops and bangs etc? Thanks John
