  1. Alleged Fuel shortage has dissuaded me at the moment. I've watched your videos on Youtube - but what swayed you for the manual rather than an IPS auto?
  2. Then perhaps to us "Lotus newbies" Lotus would want to invite us to drive an Evora V6 Manual and Auto to be better informed on the brand. Maybe I ask Nottingham when i see them in 3 weeks time.
  3. The power doesn't concern me, I'm used to 0-60 in less than 5 seconds and the Emira in any form will provide that. I just want the doors to shut properly, the trim to feel solid. I drove a new Lanrdrover 110 off road some months back and the trim (after them having had it 3 months) was in some places falling off. I'm enticed by the shape of the car its evocative but i don't want it to be at the expense of fit and finish. I'm off to Nottingham on the 18th to drool over the blue colour and push/prod the trim!
  4. Then for me its the gearbox. The majority of driving, even though i live in the peak district, is town and for that reason the advantage of DCT appeals, IPS auto less so as it wont and isn't as advanced as new torque converters or DCT boxes.
  5. My immediate worry is the show car i will see will portray a level of fit and finish I'm not used to or expecting at this price point. It's all very well saying its not representative of the finished product but the reason i haven't bought a Lotus before is exactly because they have in my mind felt like a kit car mentality - the Emira is meant to be different and to a wider audience including me.
  6. For me I fancied the V6 but not with a manual or the IPS gearbox - I'm used to, and enjoy DCT in my V8 M3. I prefer the expected sound of the V6 but the AMG 4 pot with low down torque entices me in -different experience to a N/A engine. I put down a deposit on 7th July and was in the first 500 to receive a V6 FE if i wanted one, I'll still wait for the I4 FE. I'm used to waiting I have an electric Ribble bike on order for the past 9 months and still no expected delivery date. If I've learnt anything during Covid its patience i'd prefer my Emira in Spring 2023 rather than Winter 2022. Having said that when I do see an early V6 Emira attracting lots of attention I will will question my judgement on waiting :)
